Well I did not know I was going to Bologna. It was my 50th surprise present. My partner had booked us in the Una as she thought it central to the train station (Across the road) & the bus station is just 700mtrs up to the right from the reception.

She did well booking us in the Una as it is a really cool place to stay. The decor in the reception to the rooms is great & funky, but the best of all is the service from the staff. They could not do enough for us, Really attentive.
The breakfasts were really good (they even made an attempt at a cooked breakfast if you wanted it), but the cold meats & cheese were sufficient.

Italy as you will find out is expensive. We were £90 for a 2 courser & a bottle of wine. The cheapest was a few blocks into the centre of the city & that was still £77 for a basic meal & wine.
Wine is £3.50/glass & a med beer is £3.50, but we were not there to drink.

The city is beautiful & you can easily spend the day touring about.

The reason I was taken to Bologna was for my love of motorcycles & cars.
We visited the Lamborghini factory & museum which is a 6 Euro return ticket trip on the bus & that place was amaziing.
The next day was a tour round the Ducati Bike factory & museum. In fact we went round it in the afternoon as well.
The 3rd day we caught the train to Mondena & visited the Ferrari Galleria. What a place & those cars!!!!!!!!!!

That was our trip & returning to the Una hotel to chill each night was great.

I will be looking out for other Una hotels in our travels again as I was most impressed.

Just come back for a 5 nights stay in UNA Bologna. I have chosen the city as base for a car-tour around
Emilia-Romagna that turned out to be Veneto and Lombardy as well.
The hotel decoration simply cheers you up as it is all about bright colours (red in the reception, deep blue in aisles and gateways,
Orange in rooms). Room was huge, with an excellent bed (big, comfy), a dressing room with full-mirror and modern bathroom.
Pity TV set was an old non-flat screen. It just doesn't fit with the room decor and hotel looks.
Everything was neat and clean, reception guys were simply wonderfully helpful and nice.
Fantastic breakfast (specially for Italian standards), with tasty selection of fresh fruits and juices.
It is worth a visit. The price is a plus. 80 EUR including breakfast.

We stayed at the UNA for 3 nights in September as part of our vacation. The hotel was simply brilliant. The Hotel is neat and funky and was a pleasure to stay in. The rooms are all architecturally coordinated and accessorized. Our room was bright orange, roomy and the bed was excellent. The bathroom has an interesting faucet that looked better than it functioned and the neat looking half shower glass meant water all over the floor. It would be nice if the designers actually stayed at the hotel and use the bathroom!!

We chose the UNA as it was close to the train station. The Jolly and the Starhotel were similarly priced over the weekend but we chose the UNA as we stayed at the sister Hotel ZARA in Budapest last year and enjoyed it immensely.

We went on a day trip to PARMA to visit a cheese factory and a Prosciutto factory. The tour was through www.foodvalley.it and turned out to be a wonderful day. We were on the train before breakfast and the hotel packed us a great breakfast.

The breakfasts at the hotel were excellent with a choice of hot and cold foods. The bar was also great as the bartender should have been an artist as her appetizer presentation was fabulous. The snacks at 6:30 were fantastic, and each drink was special. My only issue is was they did not have the soccer game on so I ended up next door at the Starhotel a couple of times. The internet was inexpensive, and the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant recommendations were very good.

We would stay at a UNA Hotel again.

Not too much to add here - stayed for a quick 1 night. The room was bright and funky - which I thought was a nice change from the more typical italian hotels. The parking was around $25, (you park in their underground). So... don't park / drive unless you have to.

We were a bit displeased with the front desk guy. We asked him to call a certain hotel for a reservation.... we waited and waited... for about 30 min (we wanted to go right away). Finally we ended up calling the restaurant directly and had no troubles getting in. On our way out, the front desk guy said he finally got ahold of the restaurant, and that there was no opening til much later. Very strange. So aside from this negative experience, everything else we experienced (room comfort, location good, etc) was in line with all other tripadvisors.

This hotel is centrally located, and is a wonderful property.
The hotel is very modern and fun. We stayed in the Basic Room it overlooked the Bologna Train Station. I had no issues with noise from the street. Staff was friendly and courtious

We stayed for three nights for a long weekend in May and had a great time. The hotel is sleek, modern, light and funky.

The room, after we eventually managed to work out the key system was wonderful, lots of hanging space, comfort able bed, nicely deisgned bathroom and plenty of space.

The snacks with your afternoone/early eveing drinks are amazing and worth having a glass of wine or beer before you go out and enjoy the snakcs, eg mini bruschetta etc.

Breakfast is good, served in a bright, light filled room

You can walk to anywhere you need to go form this hotel and we took the train to Florence one day which was really convenient as the staion is almost opposite. Equally convenient, the airport shuttle bus stops at the station so no need to pay for a taxi from the airport.

We had a great stay and would highly recommend this hotel

Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Una, but it didn't get off to the greatest of starts! The hotel is conveniently situated close to the train station, and it was easy to walk into the centre of town. We arrived by train and thought, great, we can check in and have a wander around and take our time finding a place for lunch. If only it had been so smooth . . . check-in took forever, passports in triplicate, staff who seemingly had just completed their training course, being told our room was ready only to find the cleaner had just started.

Once we were in our room though we were happy. The room was very clean, well sound-proofed, some nice touches like speakers for the tv in the bathroom, great lighting. We liked the bar area, great aperitif snacks too, although it was quite pricey. Breakfast was good.

The hotel has an air of a converted office block, and the bright orange corridors are a bit over the top. It all seems of a good quality though and a lot of money has been spent. For the price it is very good value, and we would recommend it. The staff could really do with being more professional though, although they did provide us with several comedic moments which we will remember for a long time to come!
