“Clean, Friendly Hotel”
Reviewed August 14, 2013

Took a cab from train station for about $20. We were only there for one night and it was comfortable, but it was a long walk to get into town and the weather was very, very hot. We got lost in a not-so-great section of town and when we finally found our way back to the hotel, we found that the dining room, Gurme Restaurant, was very enjoyable and served really good food. We did not know that there was a roof terrace, and probably would have enjoyed that more than we did on our journey into town. No free WiFi.

Dear Guest
thanks for having chosen Aemilia Hotel for your stay in Bologna.
I'm happy that you enjoyed our restaurant and the friendliness of our staff, but I wish to specify a couple of informations that unfortunatley in our opinion are not correct, actually we don't thing that is a long walk from us to the city center, is about 1 km, it's a very nice walk along the porticos of via S.Vitale and in 10 minutes you will arrive at the bottom of most famous Bologna's Landmark the two towers Asinelli & Garisenda. We provide for sure the Free Wi-Fi to all our guests, we also have two internet point at disposal for free.
I hope to welcome you back soon

Best regards

Comfortable modern hotel at a reasonable price with a great roof terrace. Definitely go up there at sunset for a spectacular view of the Bologna skyline (see my attached picture). This view makes the location worth it even though you have to walk a little further to get there. We liked walking around the city and didn't feel it was too far for sightseeing. It was also very easy to get a taxi at the hotel if needed. The roof terrace also has a jacuzzi/hot tub which was nice but it could get crowded. Breakfast was amazing with a lot of variety.

I stayed last year in this hotel and booked again on our return visit to Bologna. We stayed there for 4 days and the location is excellent. We took a taxi from the airport to the hotel for 21 euros. There is a bus that goes to the station but then you still have to get to the hotel. The location is just out of the historic centre but you can walk there in about 15 minutes. There are restaurants, snack bars, coffee shops and even a supermarket nearby and they are usually cheaper than in the centre. Saying that nowhere we ate or drank in Bologna was anything but great. Our room was spotlessly clean with a huge bed - very comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and a great selection. Hot breakfasts were available as well as pastries, toast, fruit, cakes, cheeses, cold meats etc. The bar had a lovely outside area and we has drinks there every evening. Graziella served us in the bar each evening and she was so friendly and helpful we used to look forward to seeing her - in fact all of the staff were great. The young man and the girl at breakfast were always so keen to help and most welcoming. Italian hotels seem to know how to make guests feel welcome.I certainly felt that way. The room was very quiet and we slept really well.

I had a very pleasant stay in the Aemilia Hotel. The hotel is modern, and the rooms are well-furnished. It is located outside the ring road, which is not so great for sightseeing, but good for visiting the University area. The breakfast was excellent. There was free wifi. Overall, a very good hotel and I would stay here again if in Bologna on business.

Stayed here 2 nights with a family of four. We had connecting rooms which was awesome. Parking was reasonable and easy to find (garage right next to hotel). Rooms clean and comfy (not fancy but very good esp. For the value). We ate dinner at the hotel one night, and dinner was tasty. Breakfasts were well doe with good variety of food (hot American breakfast, cheese/meats, fruit breads yogurt juices crepes and espressos. Staff were friendly. Would stay again. Also, loved the air conditioning. Worked well and was welcomed in the 100+ degree weather

First off, Bologna is a great, underrated city. Love it. It’s not besieged with touristas clamoring towards the duomo. Rather, it remains quaint and passionate, devoted to quality, both in service and product.

The ÆMilia Hotel is no exception. The reception staff is extraordinarily accommodating and friendly, and the quality of this 4* hotel property itself is well above what would be expected for the price. The breakfast is lovely, and the location is quite convenient. Perfect if you’re stopping over for a night or two and don’t wish to drive all the way into the centro but don’t want to stay along the Autostrada either.

The best part of the ÆMilia, though, is the roof deck, which boasts a phenomenal sunset viewing.

It is not the ultimate destination hotel, but it is a well-run, well-situated, lovely respite.

The hotel is NEW, so the charm one would find in an older hotel doesn’t exist. It is architecturally uninspired. However, one only need cut through the back walkway to Via Vitale, to be bathed in that old world charm and inspiration.

Clean and tidy. Standard business hotel. Long walk to city centre. Walked in first day, used taxis for remainder of stay.
Bar closed during afternoon.
Think I will be looking elsewhere if ever visit bologna again.
