This hotel was fantastic! The breakfast was fantastic, the front desk staff incredibly helpful, our room was incredibly modern and comfortable, the rooftop deck was a great treat! The only down side was that laundry service was VERY expensive and there were no laundromats to be found. Very easy walk to the city center.

We have just returned from a seven night stay at the Aemilia Hotel which we used as a base for a city break in Bologna and its surroundings and would thoroughly recommend it to fellow travellers.

The hotel is situated in a quiet area on the east side of the city so expect to pay around 20 euros for a direct taxi from the airport.

The hotel itself is a modern building and is well presented from the moment you enter the building. We had a late arrival, but check-in was efficient and without fuss.

Our 4th floor east facing room was large and decor was modern, functional and exceptionally clean. The bed was extremely large and comfortable! A nice touch was the couple of mints left on the turned down bed covers. The view from our room overlooked adjacent buildings and there are better views to be had from the 5th and 6th floors, particularly those on the west side of the hotel.

The bathroom was equally large and well appointed but note that it is fitted with a shower rather than a bath which suited us fine. A complimentary selection of toiletries was also provided.

The breakfast room was bright and airy with an excellent selection of products to suit all tastes including hot scrambled or boiled eggs, bacon, sausages etc. There was also the usual continental fayre of breads, cheeses, meats, yoghurts and fruits for those with more healthy habits.

In the evening the breakfast room doubles as the restaurant, so you are in familiar surroundings. The menu is primarily Italian dishes but with a number of international dishes though these also have an Italian flavour, so don't expect unhealthy fries!

The bar and terrace were just right for an evening glass of wine as the sun went down while the roof garden afforded fantastic panoranic city views. The jacuzzi is also located on the roof!

Given its location, we timed ourselves on our 25 minute casual stroll (and I mean casual stroll) to the foot of the twin towers in the city centre. There is a local bus from outside the hospital about 200m away that will cover the same distance in about 5 minutes.

Either way, I would not let the location put you off booking this hotel. It lived up to all our expectations.

Room Tip: Best city views from 5th and 6th floors

Stayed at this wonderful hotel for 3 nights on a sightseeing holiday to Bologna. The hotel met and far exceeded expectations in every respect. Wonderful staff in all departments including, reception, bar staff and dining room staff. Also all spoke English well and were happy to do so. We had requested a non-smoking, high floor room with a good view and this was met in every respect and not only was the room lovely and extremely comfortable in every respect including the bathroom, but the view was directly over the city and lovely to wake up to in the morning. The hotel has a panoramic roof terrace with a jacuzzi, and some sun beds and views to die for, yet it hardly mentions this in its advertising. Breakfast was excellent with huge choice and a meal in the restaurant in the evening was a lovely experience. Another good point was that there is a machine for free coffee/expresso etc all day and the nibbles provided at the bar were great and you just helped yourself. If there was one small down side it was the distance to walk into the center of town but a bus from a stop very close by takes you there in minutes and back. The city itself is beautiful and there is a tourist bus to take you round but the downside of the tourist bus is that if you do get off to sightsee at a particular point there is not another bus for at least an hour and this meant that everyone just stays on the bus. Unlike other cities where people are on and off the buses all day.
The hotel too is a mere 20 Euro ride from the airport and not therefore worth trying to take the airport bus. All in all I cannot wait to return

this hotel was very good and should have been rated excellent. but, upon our arrival in our room, the air conditioning was not working. we advised the front desk, and they said they would fix it. we went for lunch and when we returned to our room, again noair. we notified them again, left to do some visiting. we came back a couple of hours later and the problem still existed and the tv was not working. a call to the front desk did not help, as they said it would take a couple of hours to fix. after insisting that this was not acceptable they sent some one up, who determined that the breaker was off. after that things started to improve. our disappointment was that the hotel staff at no time apologized or asked or did anything to make up for this inconvenience. all this aside, the hotel room is great, big king bed, luxurious bathroom. we would recommend this hotel highly. it is a 30 minute walk to center town. there are a few restaurants in the area. enjoy.

I booked this hotel based on the high guest ratings on tripadvisor and other travel sites. The hotel and rooms are very modern. We had a lovely view of the city. The breakfast was plentiful, especially the fresh fruit juices that were offered. The hotel staff were very helpful and suggested several places for dinner. We settled on Taverna de Roberto and the food was out of this world. The hot tub on the rooftop was sparkling clean; it was a shame that we didn't have time to enjoy it. We would most definitely stay here again.

I can not praise the staff from this hotel highly enough. From check-in, to breakfast, to concierge and check-out. Staff at the front desk were helpful and flexible, and having come straight from Paris we were amazed at how large and comfortable the room was. The breakfast buffet was free, and loaded with great food. the centre of town is a 15 minute walk and the train station is a short taxi ride. I would certainly go again
