“A jewel family run hotel”
Reviewed October 5, 2013

Stayed there last week and was very satisfied with the absolute friendliness of the family and staff. It is a small family run hotel that makes you feel like you've stepped back in time in a good way. Neat, clean, relaxing roof-top deck with bar and hot tub and views of some of the towers of Bologna. Very, very close to Bologna city center and all major sights. Stayed inb a room on the fourth floor which had a lovely balcony. They even provided umbrellas since it was raining!

Room Tip: I would ask for a room on the 4th floor with a balcony.

Came across this hotel on booking.com and it had very good reviews so booked to stay one night.
Turned out that the reviews were spot on. The staff were very friendly, the whole hotel had an quietly organised feel about it. There is a large terrace (with jacuzzi) where you can watch the setting sun over the city with a glass of whatever you fancy in hand. The reception area and guest lounge (renovated two years ago) is beautifully decorated.
Breakfast was taken in what was the basement floor, again beautifully appointed with a comprehensive selection overseen by two extremely efficient members of staff.
Our room (a standard one) was small but there are a whole variety of sizes to choose from. Unusually, for a city centre hotel, there was very little outside noise as it was tucked away from any major thoroughfares. It's location is ideal, barely a five minute walk to the city centre.
Highly recommended if you want somewhere convenient to stay when you are visiting this beautiful city.

Room Tip: 4th floor with balcony overlooking the city rooftops and landmarks.

Nice and quiet, in a secluded back street within easy walking distance of the city centre. There is a great restaurant just opposite with superb food at good prices. Rooms are a good size, not all have air con, very clean and well equipped.
Staff v friendly and helpful, breakfast is fine. Jacuzzi on the roof has superb views!
Would use again if coming back to Bologna.

Room Tip: Request air von when booking

I had a Gold room but it really wasn't very big at all (and I am a European not a North American with an expectation of space). It was clean, quite well-located (10-15 minutes to the main square) but the breakfast was only average and there really isn't a roof top bar or the like - it is simply a terrace where you can sit. For the money, I would try something else next time although the staff were friendly.

We stayed at the hotel last minute after we were very dissatisfied at another location. The staff could not be more helpful and sweet. It's a few dollars (euro) more than the low end options but well worth it. 7 minutes walk (slow pace after tagliatelle) to the main square. I highly recommend this place.

I traveled alone to Bologna for a few days this past August. The Hotel Touring was one of the highlights of my trip. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and answered any questions I had. Because I was traveling alone and it was slow season, I was upgraded to a gorgeous room, spotlessly clean, with a fantastic beautiful bathroom. The terrace was peaceful and overlooked the city. I would recommend this to anyone who comes to Bologna.

Room Tip: Go for the balcony- it's worth it!

I stayed at the hotel touring during the end of August and I highly recommend this special hotel. It is very intimate and welcoming. I came to rest and write, and it was perfect. the room was lovely and the terrace on the roof was relaxing ,inspiring and opened my heart. the nice and very helpful staff are kind and professional and create a pleasant atmosphere. They helped me a lot with a personal transportation matter in a very effective way and with a smile that made me feel good.
