“Perfecto”
Reviewed March 10, 2014

After arriving in Bologna and settling into our apartment which was so nicely decorated and kitted out by the owners - some people just know how to keep tourists coming back - thank you Anna Rita Dallolio and Pier Serena. We set off with all our maps and headed down to the Piazza Maggorie. We spent the best part of the morning just walking around soaking up the history and taking heaps of photos. This was going to be a fantastic place to base ourselves and we had heaps of things to organise and we did that in the afternoon.

Hopefully the photos will help because there was not a lot to say except WOW! If you get the opportunity please go and see it all buildings around the piazza are so very different.

“Beautiful”
Reviewed March 10, 2014

Loved this magnificent square which is really the centre of all life in Bologna. Even in the rain it is alive with people. No traffic on a Sunday which makes it all the more enjoyable.

“Lovely large piazza - good place to start”
Reviewed March 9, 2014

This is a great place to start in Bologna. It is central to everywhere and leads you in many different directions - offering choices. It is great on a sunny day to see so many people out and about and the buildings themselves are quite beautiful!

“One of Europe's great squares”
Reviewed March 9, 2014 via mobile

A truly amazing collection of age-old buildings of varying styles, and yet creating a harmonious, beautiful square. We kept returning to the square, night and day, to appreciate its beauty and atmosphere at various times of the day.

“Beautiful Historic Piazza with Wonderful Side Streets”
Reviewed March 5, 2014

You get a sense of the long history of this city here. Surrounded by an area of narrow streets, old buildings and quaint shops. Easy to spend hours roaming around this area.
