“April in Bologna”
Reviewed April 11, 2013

Despite the grim weather across Europe - which we hadn't expected in Italy, but it followed us from the UK - we loved Bologna and enjoyed using the Millennhotel as our base. Less than five minutes walk from the train station for day trips out to Ravenna and such, and less than 15 minutes from the absolute centre of the City, so all major museums, cafes, bars, and attractions within walking distance. The hotel was modern, clean, well presented, with pleasant, welcoming staff. Our bedroom/shower room well appointed and quiet even though we were close to a road which had virtually no traffic after rush hour. Breakfasts were very good. A little bit of everything. Hams, cheeses, fruit, yoghurts, rolls, croissant, tarts, fresh fruit salad, fresh fruit. Relaxing atmosphere and excellent coffee made freshly at the bar.

The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is modern, clean and well appointed. I felt our room was a bit small and unfortunately it didn't have a bath - just a shower in the bathroom and even though our room was on a main road it was very quiet at night. There is secure parking nearby and it was not too hard to find from the motorway. The breakfast was good although when things ran out (orange juice, croissants, etc) they were not replaced so get in early! The hotel is about 15 minutes walk from the centre, however there are shops and restaurants in the area so it is not isolated.

Reception was manned with professional staff and clear idea on what customer wants. Breakfast was nice and coffee was fantastic. Rooms were nice but not very big. Bathroom was good. They can certainly add a restaurant to help guest who don't want to step outside during winter.

I visited this lovely hotel twice in the last few years.

At first glance it looks like a small 3 stars downtown hotel. Small lobby, small reception...
Then you meet the outstanding receptionist, who welcome you with a friendly smile,
and uncompromising professionalism.
( And as we had great discussions, they recognised me a year later... wow... )

The room was tidy, comfortable and very well equipped.
The breakfast was almost the same every morning, BUT Oh, I'd love to choose from that buffet breakfast for the rest of my life ! ( Especially that chocolate cake, and the tailormade coffees from the waitresses... )
A gemstone hidden right in the heart of Bologna...

And the distance from Gelateria Gianni is just long enough to clear one's consience.. ;-)

I was looking for a reasonable priced hotel to stay at during a trip through Italy. This worked out perfectly. Located about 2 blocks from the main train station, it provided a cosy room on a cold December night at the right price. The staff at the front desk was great, the room was well laid out, the bed comfortable, the TV selection very good. The only thing that they
might improve is the selection at the breakfast.

We needed 2 rooms for 2 nights after a reservation mix up at another Bologna hotel. The Millenn was able to accommodate us on the spot after we walked in there and we wound up really enjoying our stay.
The rooms were clean, well equipped, and everyone in the hotel was very helpful. The breakfast buffet was great too.

We will now make the Millenn our hotel of choice when we return to Bologna.

I rented the last single room I could find (a large convention) at this hotel and was very pleased. Although the room was very small, it was okay for one person for a night or two. The bathroom, however, was huge and very well appointed. The evening clerk was very helpful and the breakfast more than adequate. The hotel was just a short walk from the train station which was another plus.
