“Two star hotel with a 4 star arrogance”
Reviewed May 13, 2013

I booked two identical rooms here for 4 days and was quoted a price for each room. The first room was lovely, the second about half the size of the first with the shower so small that one couldn't raise your hands to wash your hair without bumping the shower door open. The location of the hotel however is perfect....very convenient to everything. The price that we paid at checkout for the rooms was almost double what we were quoted in our reservation. There was no explanation. In addition, for the "free breakfast" they told us about we were charged 114 euros for each room for 4 days, 28 and a half euros or $37 a day for each room, despite not eating there on one of the days. That is a lot to pay for a free continental breakfast. Will not stay here again and cannot recommend it to anyone. Sorry.

This is a very nice hotel in Bologna, clean, classically decorated and is in one of the major streets in Bologna, offering easy access to both the center and the train station. Has great restaurants and wine bars near by.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that faces the street so you can have a nice view of the trees up front

I don't understand some of the negative reviews on here. The hotel is located in a great spot between the main train station and the main town square it has a lovely fit out and looks quite elegant. Our room was very comfortable with a bathroom down a small flight of staid which was actually quite cool. They do need to insulate the internal walls though as other guests televisions kept us up at night sometimes. Overall and great hotel and we would go there again. Free wifi also!

We had great, modern, renovated suite, with two rooms with wonderful baths, and the hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The location was wonderful for us, being almost across the train station that offers frequent 10-minute trips to ALL destinations.. . It proved to be a better alternative for us than driving outside the city, parking and having to lug our bags into a taxi or something... This was one of our favorite stays in Italy,AND we do recommend it to all tourists that really love to be pamperd and enjoy ! !

Room Tip: GO there! Its central lovely clean and very very comfortable !

We were expecting more for the value from this hotel. The staff was very unhelpful and uninterested in accommodating us. The room was really hot and we were told did not have air conditioning. Also, there is not free wifi in this hotel. The location and large bathroom were the only redeemable qualities. We would not say this is a good value for the money.

I think the Tre Vecchi is a great place to stay for a couple nights in Bologna. It's not spectacular by any means. The rooms are small, the heat and hot water are quirky, the showers are postage size but it is very Italian.

It has an excellent location and is convenient to both the downtown area and the train station from where you can go anywhere with ease.

The staff is friendly and helpful and there are plenty of places to eat right outside the door. Not much in the way of breakfast in the hotel itself. It's just a place to shower and rest on your Bologna adventure.

Street noise can be a little problem in the lower front rooms but I'm from Brooklyn and find street noises comforting. All in all it is a very Italian experience without any fancy trappings or pretense.

Price is reasonable in my opinion given its location.

Room Tip: If you are troubled by noise, make sure to let the front desk know. The hotel does sit on the main d...
