This hotel is in an old galleria, looks like shops were on the downstairs beneath an atrium and skylight. Some of the rooms are now offices. It is a good price for the location which is easy from the railroad using public transit, and close to everything once you arrive and want to walk around. It is right beneath the two towers, near the Piazza Maggiore, and a few blocks to the university area. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and a continental breakfast of croissant, toast, fruit, juice, and coffee is served. This is the 2nd time staying here and I would stay here again, when I next visit Bologna.

Lovely place! Accommodations were spot on with a lovely ensuite! The view to the right was of the two towers!

Friendly (but not English speaking) people to assist with check -in and breakfast. I believe they also live onsite. We were able to communicate without too much trouble.

Located in the center of Old Town - not near the train station, but bus tranport is close at hand.

Bologna seems to be an easily walkable city ...

Garisenda was a wonderful place to lay my head and gather my thoughts after my days in this lovely city.

Room Tip: Memory foam mattress. Easy to regulate temperature.

We returned to Bologna for a lovely six night stay at the Garisenda. Our room was large and sparkling clean and the cost was a bargain. A morning cappuccino and a sweet roll in the breakfast room are the perfect way to start the day. We always feel very comfortable, welcome, and well-cared-for at the Garisenda. The location is so convenient, right in the heart of the old city, a few steps from the two famous towers, Santo Stefano, and the great Basilica of San Petronio. The fascinating open food market is even closer, along with Tamburini and Eataly. The city center is closed to all traffic on weekends, putting the Garisenda at the center of a walker's paradise.

Room Tip: Rooms on the inner courtyard are quiet. The outer rooms have a wonderful view of the towers and sho...

We stayed at the Garisenda for three nights, the location is perfect for a stay in Bologna. The room was a good size and the bathroom adequate. Breakfast was basic, the coffee fantastic. My only problem was the room with its wonderful view of the two towers was noisy at night. Closing the window certainly cut out all the street noise but it was hot and stuffy with the windows shut. To be fair the very nice owners did offer an internal room which we declined. In retrospect I would definitely stay here again but would go for a room not facing the street. We Followed up on the owners recommendations for dinner spots and had some wonderful meals in Bologna.

Room Tip: The rooms facing the street with the view of the towers are amazing but if noise bothers you and you...

Albergo Garisenda is so central to Bologna that the two towers in the centre are right outside your window (and the leaning one is leaning away form the hotel so no need to worry there). This is a small family run hotel on the third floor with a lift. The owners are only too happy to give you tips on where to eat and we found all of them to be excellent (and not that well represented on TripAdvisor). We tried Da Nello, La Grassilla and Teresinina (and had to leave La Orsa for another time). Rooms are comfortable and we asked for one with an en suite. Don't miss Bologna on your travels!

Room Tip: Ask for an en suite

I was really surprise as i entered the Garisenda. It is a beautiful, calm Boutique hotel in the city center of Bologna. For a really good price you get a nice and clean room, a breakfast and very good service from the owner.
I made a round trip through italy and this spot was one of the best stays of that time. Additional i forgot my glasses and the staff contacted me and send the glasses back to me to Germany. What a service ;) Gracie mille

This place really exceeded our expectations--incredibly clean, big room, comfy bed, ceiling fan, beautiful view of the center of Bologna from our windows, and a great price. It was quieter than we expected, given its location, and we slept incredibly well. Breakfast was good and fast--great cappuccino, yogurt, etc.

You couldn't ask for a better location, in the middle of everything. When we return to Bologna, this is the place we want to stay!
