Albergo Atlantic in via Galliera 46 in the historic centre of Bologna is a ten minute walk from the city’s main railway station. The Hotel which was a convent a long time ago is made up of connected buildings with red brick roofs and tiny court yards
We arrived in the afternoon and were promptly checked into our room on the second floor. The lift stops at various levels and depending on your room you either walk straight to your room or up or down a few steps. Our room was small. The window overlooked a tiny internal courtyard with the brick roofs of part of the Hotel which is normal in buildings in the historic old part. There was a table a suitcase rack a TV chair a safe and hot cold a/c. The bathroom was very small and the bathtub had a hump which could be slippery if you are not careful. It seems most of the other rooms have shower cubicles. Both the bed room and bathroom were very clean.
The breakfast room is on the ground floor in a little corridor and we had a mini continental breakfast which was good. Wi-Fi was free of charge and they had an Internet point next to the reception.
The staff were very polite and friendly and gave us good directions and advice.
The main square Piazza Maggiore is a ten minute walk through small charming streets. You can visit various churches & museums. Go past coffee shops restaurants and a variety of shops.
We only slayed one night and for those who are passing by for a night or two it is a good place to stay.
