The hotel is a bit hard to find at first, on a small back alley, but it turned out it is very close to some of the best restaurants in town. I did not find the alley being scary or full of drug addicts as I had read in other reviews, it felt perfectly safe.

The hotel itself is ok and what you expect from a 3 star hotel. Being 3 people we expected one of us to have to sleep in a foldable camping bed or similar but the room fitted three normal beds.
We visited Oct/Nov and there was no heating but I think that is normal in Mediterranean countries and the weather changed after the first day so it was fine.
The reception staff are helpful, for example they overheard us discussing the bus and asked if they could suggest us to take a taxi instead since it would be the same price for 3 people.

I stayed at the hotel last week. It was very convenient in terms of location. Wherever you want to go is within walking distance. However, the best part of the hotel is the staff they work with. The gentleman and the lady were very helpful. The breakfast was good in a cosy atmosphere. All the tourist attractions, and the station are easy to get to on foot. Whether you come from the airport or arrive at the station by train, the main station is the point where you will get off and then, follow the Independenza road until hotel metropolitan cross the road and the hotel is only a few yards away. There is a wonderful cafe very close to the hotel. We found it on the recommendation of the gentleman. It is called Terzi. It offers a variety of coffee. If you don't want it there are many other choices around. The patissierra on the corner of the street has wonderful ice cream if you feel very hungry before getting into your room, there is a shop on the Independenza street, which is very close. If I happen to go to Bologna in the future, this hotel will be definitely my destination during my stay there.

Room Tip: First floor is the most convenient one, anyway there is a lift to go upstairs.

+: Great location, in the middle of the city. Very friendly evening front desk staff. an elderly gentleman, who recommended a good place to eat.

-: The staff during the morning was rude (e.g. the man at the front desk was interrupting me and didn’t let me finish what I was saying and the lady didn’t let the 3 of us put together 2 tables, so that we can sit together, but wouldn’t have cleaned down another table so that we can sit down and was also raising her voice with the other guests). There was some strange noise coming from the heating system in the early hours of the morning.

Nicely located a short wal from the train station and local festivities. Room very clean and decent breakfast. Best part the experience was Concierge Roberto who greeted us at check-in and gave some of the most useful advice for local dining I've encountered. He advised us on the perfect place for our budget and our desire for local cuisine! Grazie Roberto!

Very convenient in terms of location between the train station and the Piazza Magiore. Close to good restaurants. Good breakfast with plenty of variety (I'm uncertain why some people are complaining about the b'fast in this thread). Good staff. Rooms may not be the most spacious but spotlessly clean and fonctional. Beds were very comfortable. Managed to get good price through an hotel website (265E/2 people/4 nights) so very happy overall.

Staff were kind and helpful, rooms were quite small but cosy, evthing was clean and breakfast was basic but ok. It is also well located between the train station and the city center. Compared with other hotels in Bologna this one was cheaper. There was also wifi, 1euro per hour. I would recommend it.

I go to Bologna once a year for business, and recently stayed at this property. I will try to stay here again next year. It was perfect, has wifi in the room, and the staff was eager to assist with car reservations, translation help, or anything else we needed. Great location.
