“Great staff”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 13, 2013

The staff were excellent and could not have been more helpful. The location was good with the Piazza Maggiore within easy walking distance as was the railway station. Just round the corner were plenty of bars and restaurants. Room was good but you need to avoid rooms overlooking the street as there is a lot of noise at night.

Room Tip: You need to book into one on the courtyard rooms or the noise from the street is very disturbing.

Dear Guest,
I thank you for your positive feedback and I am really glad to read you enjoyed your stay in our hotel.
The attention of myself and my staff is constant so that every guest feels like at home.
Regarding the noise, we suggest for more sensitive customers to book our superior rooms overlooking the inner courtyard.
We will be glad to offer one of these rooms next time you want to be our guest.
Best regards,
Tha Manager

This was our return trip to this Hotel, having stayed previous year, we booked hotel directly, and were not disappointed at our reception at this welcoming friendly Hotel.
We had stayed the previous 4 days as history of art friends, enjoying Tuscany and Umbria, and looked forward to once again relaxing in this bustling with activity University town. It was wonderful to witness the buzz of student activity, a meeting of New Balance political party was taking place in Piazza Maggiore beginning with a Tango Latin American dance. The following morning, a half marathon was taking place in a festive atmosphere.

Yes, there may have been sounds and talks outside the hotel at night, but lets face it, if you want a quiet hotel, maybe approach some monastery elsewhere.
As we arrived on a saturday, we were staying for 3 days, we had a pick of churches to attend Mass on Sunday morning, and opted for Cathedral di San Pietro where we attended a Latin Mass together with all the regalia of incense, wonderful Latin prayers bringing back childhood memories, and listening to the blaring organ as choir music wafted Gregorian chant up to heaven.
We enjoyed visiting nearby churches of Basilica of San Petronio, Historics Santa Stefano Basilica, St Domenica, and so many other locations steeped in history, all closely nearby. We were impressed by Bologna’s lengthy porticos. Piazza Maggiore was only a few minutes walk away.
We busied ourselves in markets , shops, took coffees outdoors, ate out every evening at wonderful restaurants.
Our hotel provided tasty breakfasts, comfortable rooms, we had free Wifi, Hotel retained our cases on day we left, as we came back for them at midday, and gave us a friendly goodbye.

The hotel itself was beautiful, and the room was extremely large and comfortable. The service was friendly and breakfast was great. The only problem I had was being that it's a college town, the locals stayed out until 2-3AM hanging out at the restaurant right outside our window and the windows aren't soundproof.

No elevator and the shower was extremely weird (no door or curtain and shower head moved around so water got everwhere). All in all, this place was nice, but if I return to Bologna I'll probably try a new place.

Dear Guest,

I sincerely thank you for spending a bit of Your time writing about my hotel. I am very glad that You appreciated our staff service and our breakfast. Concerning the shower, You probably had a comfortable Junior Suite room with a bathtube, but if we had known, we would have offered You a room with a shower with glasses.

Our building is very ancient and due to its historical and artistic value, so far we were not allowed to install an elevator in the structure (which is only two floors high), but all our efforts are focused to find an architectural solution as soon as possible. Besides, my staff is always ready to help with heavy luggage all our guests.

We cannot deny that the area of the hotel is very lively, above all during the week-end, so it happens to hear groups of people talking during the night: we suggest to all our most sensitive guests to book our Superior double rooms ,which face the inside courtyard and are very quiet, if they are available. We hope that, in case You return to Bologna, You will ask us for one of these rooms.

We booked this hotel based on TA reviews and were not disappointed. The location is perfect for exploring Bologna as it is very near the main attactions. Staff go above and beyond to assist in any way needed and are always friendly. We requested a room on the quiet side, which was great, no street noise, but it was rainy and cold during our stay. Breakfast is typical of region with cheeses, meats, breads, cereals, etc. Size of our room was good and bathroom is standard as well with small showers, again typical. Best of all about this hotel was the helpful staff and the location; great restaurants very near, right across the street from the pasta lab where you can watch them make it. There are a couple of markets for supplies very close. I would recommend this hotel gladly!!

Room Tip: Request a room on the quiet side, away from the street.

The hotel is situated in the old university quarter and this means the surroundings are very attractive. Wonderful architecture, lively bars, good restaurants. The main sights are just a short walk away. The rooms are clean and friendly but nothing special. That our stay was so pleasant was mainly due to the extremely helpful and friendly staff. Thank you!

The hotel is at a very good location, at the city centre, and the rooms even though they are not very big, they are very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful throughout our stay. The breakfast was rich and of good quality. Highly recommended if you are not looking for too much luxury!
