If you need to catch an early flight from Bologna airport, this is the place to stay. Only a few minutes from the airport and very quite. Rooms are just fine for a One night stay , check in Was very efficient even if under staffed but the receptionist Was very help full . Breakfast Was server from very early inthe morning to facilitate early departures and Was most satisfactory.

We chose this hotel for a single-night stay based on Trip Advisor reviews, and glad we did! It is directly across from the main train station, but double glazing cut out all the noise from the road and the station. The rooms are big, with couch/chairs, desk and TV (including a couple of English-language news channels), and the bathroom was lovely. The furnishings are a few years old now, but in perfect working order and very comfortable. We arrived a couple of hours before check-in time, but staff were perfectly happy to take our bags and promised to check us in a little early if possible, and the bags were deposited up in rooms ready for when we returned from checking out the city. Check in and out were smooth and staff courteous and helpful. Breakfast was good, a quite extensive buffet of reasonable quality, for a hotel. My one complaint was that there was a strong smell of air freshener (or perhaps the exclusive designer perfume the toiletries mention) that seemed to be being pumped through the air conditioning system, which meant you could not get rid of it by opening a window. Most people probably would not notice that, but I am not keen on perfume.

We enjoyed our five day stay here very much. So conveniently near the train station making side trips easy, but quiet, you wouldn't know you were that near that station. The room is large by European standards, and kept very nicely clean - beautiful bathroom and great view of a nice green courtyard. Breakfast is very good, always fresh - excellent cocktails in the evening too. Highly recommend it!

Room Tip: Asking for a quiet room may be a good idea, ours was perfect!

We chose this hotel because it was directly across from the train station. The area is a bit sketchy but we were able to walk to the old city centre easily. The staff were kind and helpful. We had supper in the connecting restaurant and though the prices were a bit high, the food was delicious and our server took the time to visit with us, which we really appreciated. The room was clean and comfortable but there was no air-conditioning (or it wasn't working)

A very nice contemporary hotel in this great & beautiful city of Bologna famous as grossa & rossa. The Hotel is located opposite the central station of the city which is a very convenient location when visiting Bologna by car.The Hotel has it's own parking place & from Excelsior 10 to 15 minutes walking is needed to reach centro storico! The rooms & bathrooms are spacious & clean having all the toiletry accessories! The double glaze windows are amazing as we had a room on the front & thought it would be noisy,we never heard any of the street bustle. The interiors of the hotel such as the lobby, the library & the bar are nicely decorated, bright & luminous because of the big windows around.Good spots to read,to have your capuccino, hot & cold drinks r througout the day or before going out.Wi-Fi access is available but free only in public areas. We think internet needs to be free in the rooms too.The staff is efficient, friendly & willing to give you information. The breakfast is good but we would prefer it with more of italian scent!A hotel in the center of Bologna who has the best of the italian food has to have an italian colazione. It is a really good hotel & Bologna one of the most beautiful cities of the world. We have visited this Hotel twice & we will be back.

The main benefit of this hotel is that its located across the trainstation, anything else is just moderate compared to its high price tag.

The rooms r decent and clean but need a refurbishment, as the design looks quite dated. The staff is friendly but a little reserved. I wouldnt recommend the breakfast; its way too overpriced for what u get.

Overall a decent place but not a first choice.
