Everything about this hotel is first class. The staff were friendly, helpful and professional. The rooms are spotlessly clean and well supplied. The restaurant is absolutely delightful. A totally wonderful experience.

very very excellent hotel in Bologna!!! Its a mixture of architecture, history, old charm and elegance. The bed was superb, the bathroom was very nice with sparkling mirror and marble floor, everything was perfect. The service was great and everyone is so professional. Very good location and very convenient to all main attraction. I would recommend this hotel to all.

Our three day stay at Grand Hotel Majestic was a memorable one.
Very beautifully furnished in typical Italian style, service and amenenities top notch, our room was not ready on arrival as we were early,we were invited to wait in the bar area and offered a drink and bar snacks ,all complimentary.
On arrival at our suite, there was a bowl of fresh fruit, bottled water, and a warm welcome note.
Reception were extremely helpful obtaining an emergency dental appointement during our stay.
Breakfast buffet was included, and a very good selection of both hot and cold foods, even champagne!
We would highly recommend this property, for all of the above and also very central to all that Bologna offers, wonderful restaurants, and local foods, interesting sights, and a vibrant buzz.

Room Tip: Very quiet at night so no reason to choose a special room, junior suite would be my choice.

We enjoyed our stay at this grand and welcoming hotel. Everyone was gracious and seemed truly delighted that we were staying at their hotel. Our room (204 as I remember) was large and decorated in typical over the top style. Normally, a room with a single window (hidden under a wealth of drapery) could be a turn off but this room managed to feel light and airy. English language cable and free wireless was a plus (but you did need to reenter your LONG passcode regularly.) Our room included the expansive and tasty breakfast buffet (not all do.) The location is perfect for touristing and not a bad walk to the train station for day trips to other locales.

All in all, I'd stay at this hotel again - especially if our room had more windows, the only reason they didn't get 5 stars in this rating.

The Grand Hotel Majestic is both Grand and Majestic plus is well located in the city center, walking distance to historical sites, museums, restaurants and shops. It deserves the Luxury Hotel category for its elegance in all areas of decor, service and food. We had a suite on the second floor which felt like an Italian pied-a`-terre in Bologna with room service. The furnishings were luxurious, comfortable and welcoming. Linen sheets and all. We wondered about the noise level as our suite was on the street. However, the street was quieter in the evening and the heavy window treatments created a sound barrier when closed. The staff was very attentive to providing excellent customer service.

Room Tip: Book a suite if you are going to be there a few days.

The Grand Hotel Majestic "Gia' Baglioni" is a luxury hotel in the heart of Bologna. Oftentimes, a hotel can win over guests by its location alone, and not have to worry about the details of the hotel itself. This is not the case here. The gia' Baglioni (a call to its name before the Majestic purchased it) is a hotel that focuses on the details of luxury and pays homage to its history. The rooms are adorned with heavy, Napoleonic-era drapery, couches and plus chairs that brings a sense of importance and grandeur. The bathrooms are marbled and have every modern luxury. The service is quick, kind and personal.

It is worth going to the hotel's restaurant, "Il Carracci" named after the famous Italian painter whose ceiling mural depicting Summer, Fall, Winter & Spring ornaments the main dining area. The food is delectible and cater to travelers who are interested in Bologna's best-known dishes (Tagliatelle al Ragu, for example).

The hotel's location is perfect. As a tourist who wants to walk the city center's portici, or as guest visiting the University, the Majestic is a stone's throw away from every main attraction.

This is one hotel where location, room quality, food and service come together in concert to make it worthy of its "luxury hotel" name.

Room Tip: As with most Italian hotels, make sure to specify if you need two separate beds, and don't expec...

The location is ideal for the Bologna city center. The hotel, a former palace, is decorated in over the top ornate fashion and the rooms are spacious and beautifully appointed. The staff and service is first rate. Once again in European fashion the weather was warm but the air conditioning had not yet been put on, so one had to open windows in the evening. The restaurant and room service are outstanding. The front side of the hotel is on a busy and noisy street.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that is not on the front side of the hotel to avoid traffic and pedestrian noise.
