“Good place for a lunch.”
Reviewed November 2, 2013

On our 5 day visit to Bologna, we visited the Caffé Zamboni twice. The first time for lunch, we tried some of the local pasta dishes and local wine. Excellent service from a friendly, helpful waitress who spoke excellent English and recommend nice food and wine. The Caffé was very busy and we were lucky to get a seat at this very popular eatery in the University area.

Our second visit was to sample the Aperitivo buffet on the Saturday evening. The buffet had a large selection of local food but it was difficult to find a seat. When we found a seat it was inside the caffé and a lot of the patrons were more interested in watching the rather loud football match on the televisions located around the inside of the caffé. Although the food on the buffet was very good and represented good value for money (€8 each including an Aperol Spritz).
I would suggest not going on a Saturday night if you are not interested in football and don't like too much noise in the background.

“very busy cafe”
Reviewed October 26, 2013

It was going fine, got a nice little table in the corner for 2, good for people watching, got food from the night buffet, which had a good selection and very tasty and fresh. ordered to cocktails and they came and they were good. Young guy who delivered our drinks (16 Euros with buffet for 2) took my 20 and never came back with the change. I asked him 3 times in my best attempt at italian for the change and he just looked bored or shrugged, or said ya ya , but never came with it. So I had to ask the guy who took our order, and explain to him, and he came with our change pretty quick after that. We decided to go somewhere else to order another drink as we no longer felt comfortable here. The food is good though, but you have to be a bit aggressive at the buffet or you'll never eat.

“Cheap n cheerful, €8 for drink & buffet”
Reviewed October 11, 2013

You get what you pay for with this. Buy any drink and get the " as much as you can eat buffet " for € 8,
It was ok for a quick eaton the move as we didn't want a full meal.
There was everything you need for a 3 course feed. Starter ( soup/salad ) main course ( pizza/ pasta /rice etc ) and dessert ( cake / fruit )
Only thing I would say is loads of people breathing all over food and not everybody used tongs provided to pick up food.
Would I go back? Probably if I wanted something quick and I was in the area.

“Get the Buffet!!!”
Reviewed September 12, 2013

The lunch and dinner buffets are by FAR the best deal in town both price and selection wise! Easy to spot and not to be missed! (The hot waiters are also not to be missed!)

“Solid menu, good service”
Reviewed August 29, 2013

A cafe that is for both tourists and locals. Menu is a little restricted and sticks to mainly pasta based menu. However the tagliatelle a la ragu is good and the other dishes are fine - suspiscions of a microwave sometimes though - one pasta was solidly dry in one part. Prices not too extreme so would return.
