“Broad daylight robbery”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 3, 2012

We came across what we now know to be a famous establishment by total coincidence. We went in at almost 14:00 and were seated after we promised we'd only have a quick lunch.
Lunch included:
2 dishes of taliatele with ragu sauce-first course size
2 dishes of tortelini with tomato sauce-first course size
2 bottles of natural water
1 cup of double espresso
Bread
We paid....I still can't believe it....95(!!!!!!!!!!)€

24€ were for “il coperto” !!!!! Unbelievable!
No wine, no main course, nothing special (it was tasty but not out of this world).

Yes, I feel we were ripped off. No, I never want to go there again and don't recommend it to others.

“unique eating experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 18, 2012

what a romantic place Rodrigo is !

went for lunch on a dark rainy day and we were treated like royalty. The food was fresh and delicious too....very large selection of home made pastas and some wonderful vegetable dishes like fried eggs on green wild asparagus.

the service was perfect and some of the regulars and mainly old timers provided the floor show.......elegant couples in their eighties eating and drinking well into the afternoon.

Life as it should be enjoyed.

“Perfect Family Owned Local Italian Restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 22, 2011

Don't miss this family operated gem when you're in Bologna. We heard about it from a client who is from Bologna and absolutely fell in love with this place the second we stepped foot in the door! Make a reservation, no matter which night you go, because the tables fill up fast (at least when there is a convention in town like Cersaie). They have homemade Italian food and the bolognese sauce is a must have. The owner will come around to your table and chat to make sure you are having a great evening. Don't forget to talk to the wine guy. I wouldn't call him a somolier, but there is a guy who fetches the wine from the cellar and he knows his Italian wines. We were interested in two Montepulciano's on their list and when we asked which one was better, he said, one is from the husband and one is from the wife. We tried each and like the bottle made by the wife better!

The atmosphere here is great too. The restaurant is decorated with hundreds of really old wine bottles and liquor bottles. Most are still full but they are obviously just for show as the storage conditions would not have protected the wine. It is fun to fantasize about actually being able to drink some of them though.

Don't miss this one!

“I don't want you to visit this restaurant...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 7, 2011

...Because then I'd have to share this gem with you, and risk fighting for a free table. My GF and I absolutely loved this place: great ambience, great service, old-school staff, a fave of the well-heeled in Bologna, and the dishes (pasta fagioli, tortellini in brodo, grilled calamari, filet mignon in a mustard-cognac sauce, rosemary potatoes, asparagus, Amarone, some proseco / grappa to start & end the meal, etc). I regret that we only found it on Saturday and that they're closed on Sundays. The shrimp cocktail looked out of this world. I had a glance at the other diners' dishes and counted 4 - 5 other dishes I'd like to try. A real gem...
