This was our third dinner in our week long stay in Bologna. Ultimately it was an incredibly frustrating experience. The food alone deserves full marks - we started with octopus in a diavolo sauce on top of crunchy bread (delicious), then had grouper ravioli (contender for best pasta dish of our three week holiday in Italy) and then had the grilled mixed fish and shellfish (a huge plate of mouth watering goodies). Unfortunately, however, the service did not live up to the high standard of the food. Perhaps we caught the staff on an off night, but the service was slow and - more importantly - distinctly surly and unfriendly. I'm hoping that this was indeed an aberration, as the quality of food was such that I would want to go back if we are ever in Bologna. So definitely a mixed bag!
