“Very Comfortable Stay”
Reviewed March 16, 2014

We only had a one night stay as we were only away for a short time, but the manager Roberto was super helpful, making sure we had everything we needed and giving great advice of what to see in Bologna.

Would definitely recommend.

Cup of tea on arrival, every comfort provided for - before you have even thought of it - what's not to love? I stayed just one night but I would love to have stayed longer. Bed was comfortable, hot water was plentiful, place was spotless, and decor was so appropriate for this beautiful palazzo. I had the pink room which was spacious and had plenty of wardrobe space. Fresh fruit in the room meant I never went hungry. Agostino was so thoughtful, taking care of whatever needed taking care of. Roberto too was an excellent host. Breakfast was eaten at a communal table and encouraged discussion amongst guests. Chocolate croissants were delicious! I would not hesitate to return.

I wish we could stay longer than 1 day….Not only did we find the town of Bologna absolutely wonderful, but also the Antica Residenza became the best staying experience ever! From the first minute Roberto met us, we started to feel special and happy!
The place itself is the real piece of ART, every detail has chosen with great taste and feeling of Italian art. Without any exaggeration - you feel like home, in home you would dream about to have one day! All Roberto's recommendations for places to see and restaurant were absolutely great! The location is perfect! EVERYTHING was just simply amazing! Thank you Roberto!
Dreaming about coming back and stay longer!
Wish you all the best in life! Thank you for doing business with heart and Love! This is something that is hard to find nowadays.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Pink one…but I am sure all of them are the piece of art and cosiness

We stayed for a week at the stunning Antica Residenza for the third time and we had another amazing experience. The last time we stayed here in November, we found out that an exhibition with Vermeer's paintings was going to take place on 8/2/2014 until May. Agostino was most helpful to assist in purchasing tickets for the first night viewing. The exhibition is fantastic! Mainly the "Girl with the pearl earing" is breathtaking! We will not keep repeating ourselves and all the other reviewers about how wonderful is Antica Residenza. We will just say thank you Agostino and Roberto for another magical stay at your special place! See you again in June!!

From the moment we arrived at Antica Residenza d'Azeglio, and Agostino welcomed us with food & drink just like we were personal friends, we knew that Bologna would become a very special place on our trip. We stayed in the Rose room, but any of them would have been equally as marvellous. Clean, comfortable, beautifully decorated, and the aircon was always a welcome relief after a big day of sightseeing. 'La Grassa' celebrates a rich history, both in sights and degustations. Agostino set us up beautifully each day with recommendations for fabulous things to see, do, eat and drink; Whether it was a fine-dining experience or simply the best gelato in town, or which local bus to catch to see the sights, he knew it all. What I also enjoyed was the way he invited guests to meet each other and chat in the communal lounge area with pre-dinner drinks or a shared breakfast table. We were very sad to leave, and will certainly return.

Bologna is a completely charming city made more accessible and enjoyable by the assistance of Agostino and Roberto. On my first day, Agostino walked with me to the Piazza to make sure I had my bearings and would be able to find my way back in the evening. They provided advice about churches, museums and restaurants as well as connections for a day trip to Ravenna. This was my first time of spending a week outside of the major Italian cities like Rome, Venice, and Milan so it was extremely helpful to have support from Agostino and Roberto in navigating the town.

And, yes, the accomodations, breakfast, and location were all good as well.
