This museum offered us just what we wanted. Pesaro is a lovely town where you can enjoy the beautiful beaches and at the same time, take in history and culture. This museum is not big, and gives the visitor a taste of Pesaro art and that of its region. We especially liked the 14 and 15 th century ceramics.
You leave without feeing overwhelmed as you might by the museums in the larger Italian cities and have ample time to visit the beach, or something else on the same day.
If you also intend to visit Rossini's home, another Civic Museum, you are able to obtain a discount if you purchase the tickets at the same time.
We also rented audio guides from a shop next to the tourist info in the Piazza de la liberta. These are well worth the 5 Euros rental fee and you can keep them for a period of 48 hours. They are of excellent quality and the information is very well organized. These audio guides contain Information not only about each of Pesaro's museums, but its other important sites, as well.
