We were impressed by this little restaurant. Prompt, friendly service and good hot food. The staff seemed a bit young though eager to please. We were seated quickly and our appetiser arrived within five minutes. Our main course Stoccafisso -- dried cod made with potatoes was excellent but I am told when the original owners run this restaurant the Stoccafisso was twice as good as it is now. Regardless, the price was good as was the service and the food itself.
Walking to the restaurant from the Grand Hotel Palace was treacherous. After nearly falling we continued on through broken sidewalks single file. We had to walk single file because of the traffic which raced by with complete disregard for pedestrians. The city of Ancona is at fault for not ensuring the safety of its citizens and tourists. The roads are in good shape but not the sidewalks. Unfit for the elderly who use walkers or wheelchairs. Absolutely not safe for children of any age.
