This was our fourth trip to St Peter's, yet ,as always, it was uplifting and enthralling. Give yourself enough time and energy to take it all in and enjoy ( don't try to whiz round after the Vatican Museum ! ). The Pieta is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful works of art in the World. Such a shame that it is now at a distance behind glass.
The Pope celebrates Mass in the square on a Wednesday and Sunday, which is an experience, especially for the devout.
A jaw-dropping experience.

Likes:
> Queues are long but do move reasonably quickly
> Stunning inside and out, probably the finest church we've ever visited. Simply jaw dropping.
> You could spend half a day here if you take the time to enjoy the detail, its vast
> It's free

Dislikes:
> Nothing

Recommendations:
> Look for the crypt entrance near St. Peters tomb, well worth a visit before you leave
> If you have time queue up for dome
> When the weather is good (e.g. sunny), in late afternoon you get some stunning light streams through the windows which look fantastic in photos

Not having fond memories of catholic school was a little underwhelmed but my wife loved it. The restoration of the outer columns is going well and looks good. But the crowds and lack of any form of organisation made it a it of a chore for me

Even though it is very crowded, visiting the Church was a wonderful experience. There are many people inside taking pictures but there is a room where people can pray.

Astonishing and breathtaking beauty, i felt close to God. Angelo has made the tour inside the Basilica amazing, his explanation we're so detailed that we felt projected back in times.
