Owner description: Probably the most famous chapel in the world because of its incredible artwork, notably "The Last Judgment," Michelangelo's stunning fresco covering 10,000 square feet of the ceiling and wall.

“Phenomenal”
Reviewed February 28, 2013

My wife had been to Rome twice before , and never seen the Sistine chapel , we went on a busy Friday , and the queues were very short , took us about 15 minutes to go through security and get tickets , so not worth paying for the guided tours that everyone is trying to sell you
The chapel is in the Vatican Museum and this alone is fantastic , amazing tapestries and paintings , together with the Frescos o walls and ceilings , leading to the Sistine chapel .
The ceiling there is everything I thought , fantastic colours and details , even more remarkable , considering when it was done .
Well worth the visit and at 16euros , good value , as we had a limited time , but still spent an hour there , easy to spend several hours if you wanted

“Much more than I had imagined!”
Reviewed February 27, 2013

The Sistene Chapel was beautiful. It was fun to walk through staring at the ceiling and picking out what each panel depicted. It is quite crowded but definitely worth the 16 euro admission to the Vatican Museum. It is the most impressive painting collection in the world!

If it doesn't bring as tear the Sistine Chapel will surely inspire awe in the viewer. The thronging mass who squeeze into the Chapel are certainly a distraction but no book, TV show, photograph or facsimiile painting can prepare the visitor for the scale and beauty of one of the wonders of the world of art and religion

“loved it!”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

This chapel is gorgeous and I wish I could have sat in it half the day. My only disappointment was that it was absolutely packed with people which made it a bit uncomfortable and less enjoyable. Of course you also couldn't take photos (no surprise though). If you're in Italy and have time I'd head over to vatican city and visit.

(I actually visited a few years ago so the date of visit is incorrect)

“No photo's”

I thought this place was round. It's not, its rectangular with a high ceiling. My neck hurts after looking at all those magnificent paintings. Brilliant. I just wish when they say no photographs that people would respect it. Especially the Japanese (no offence intended)
