Hotel staff is very helpful, all they speak in english. Very nice room, breakfast is wonderful, we get coffee/tea/juice and home made cake, it was wonderful. Hotel is near train station and city center, tivoli is walking trip, no need transport. In hotel we get a map and sightseeings information, it was very helpfull for us. I recomended this hotel because it is very clean room, good acomodation, also you can make coffee and tea in the room, also if you need you can cook in the rooms is cups, and all tools for cooking.

In this hotel i fell like at home.

Consigliatissimo!!!!!

We stayed at the Vecchio Treno only for one night, but we are sure to return soon! First of all, a fantastic welcome, nice people, friendly, and extremely helpful! Parking around the corner, 10 min walk from the center. The room (Binario 1), was really clean, spacious and well cared for in every detail, in short, who could ask for more? Breakfast? Everything you could want was there! Really, the first time that the reality is better than the pictures on the website! Highly recommended!!

Very nice, clean and confortable place, easy to find just behind the train station at walking distance from Villa D'Este, Villa Gregoriana and Tivoli old town. Newly furnished room with ac. Noise of the cars was not an issue once you close the windows during the night.
Privacy assured, breakfast very charming and friendly.
One can rely on the very helpful owner for advice for the city, very nice welcoming people and personal "service"not disappointed.

Room Tip: The room with bunk beds is very nice

Impeccable, newly furnished room with AC, easy to find just behind the train station Not in the historic center, that much is true. Noise of the cars was not an issue once you close the modern windows during the night. Rooms are in a separate building than where the owner's family lives, so privacy is assured. Breakfast was OK, nothing fancy, but OK, and you could refill if you wanted. One can rely on the very helpful owner (intermediate English) for advice for the city, we took his recommendation for a small restaurant (10% off), and were not disappointed.

This place is for the tourist on a budget that would rather spend on sights and good food than on accommodation.

Five of us landed in Rome then rented a bus and drove to Il Vecchio Treno. The office for the establishment is up the street (a busy street with no parking) So you must ring them and pay cash and then they show you where you can park and you hall your luggage up 4 flights of stairs. The doors are always locked and the hall lights are on a timer which does not give
you time to arrive at your room sometimes. The rooms were very clean and comfortable but quite noisy which I have learned is common in Italy. The breakfast was a disgrace by Italian standards. They made a big deal about giving us the equivalent of WWII rations. Nothing was fresh and everything was prepackaged in a factory. We waited and waited for some essence of Italian hospitality to come out of the kitchen but unfortunately not.
The traffic was very hectic for pedestrians and the B & B was not in the center of town. Granted you could walk easily to Villa Gregoriana and the wonderful restaurant overlooking the park but we would have enjoyed being closer to the wonderful Villa D'Este in Hindsight there were many more restaurants and coffee shops in that area. Live and Learn they say. The Bus to Villa Adriana was a nightmare with people crammed in as the door closed and we had a long hot walk to the entrance. A taxi would have been much wiser. Hope this helps others with their plans.

The property is situated along the Street Tiburtina Valeria (important road of Roman origin), then a busy street a short walk from the station, from Park Villa Gregoriana and 10 minutes' walk from the historic center.
A Tivoli parking can be a problem, our fortune is to have free parking near the train station.
Some rooms are on the third floor of the building does not have a lift: usually offer help with the luggage of our guests.
We also offer sincere advice on the best restaurants and the best attractions of the place, accompanied by a full tour itinerary on paper: the staff takes to heart guest satisfaction, with friendly personal service. If the service is not deemed sufficient we are ready to immediately uncomfortable.

First, we drove there, since we had not been to Tivoli before we decided to check first hand the Hotel options in the area. Be sure Tivoli is where you plan to go, because most of the hotels listed are far out of town near Villa Adrian and the Terme. If Tivioli is where you like to stay and you take the train (Short walk) this is the place we found after walking the whole area and it was indeed a wonderful experience. Clean comfortable, all new furniture, and remodeled interior. Note, there are not many lodging options in Tivoli. There is plenty to see and do and being able to walk to them from here was a big plus! If you want to do a short day or two out of Rome this is the place. Great price! Great location for Tivoli proper. Breakfast included, very charming and friendly.
