May be the best ever steak we have had. Excellent wines too and the starters were also superb - Bolognese and mushrooms. The resteraunt also makes fresh desert breads which are excellent. Careful to avoid overordering

Was recommended this restaurant by an italian friends friend, and what a blessing! Lovely food, environment and service. The Bistecca alla fiorentina was not only tasty but big enough for 2 or maybe even three! Visit Dai Tuscani if you are in Roma.

A very nice restaurant, good service. A little bit more expensive than some of the other restaurants in the area.

Dear Staff, Chef and Owner of Dai Toscani!
Dear Future Visitors!

This review is long overdue - I have been to Dai Toscani restaurant 4 times since May 2010, and it has been a success every single time! It was recommended to me by a local, when I asked for "good cuisine, nice setting, and authentic - near Piazza Bologna". It did not disappoint, and since then I have brought not only fellow Piazza Bologna residents here, but also foreign guests visiting me and friends from all over Rome!

The Food: the cuisine is TUSCAN, as the name suggests, so don't expect any Pizza Margherita, amatriciana, carbonara, etc. These guys stick to their guns and are terrific at what they do! The menu consists of delicious, freshly prepared gems like Crostini di Fegato (Liver Patè Crostini), Tuscan Ragù, Tuscan Salsiccia con Patate o Polenta (delicious Tuscan sausage with roast potatoes or polenta), homemade Tuscan Pappardelle (a type of pasta), Tuscan Rabbit Ragù, and of course the wildest selection of cantucci and other sweets - enjoyed best when dipped in Vin Santo, a delicious sweet dessert wine. And much, much, much more - those are just my favorites! The menu is only in Italian, but the staff are lovely and will take the time to translate it for you and make recommendations if you don't speak any.

The Staff: the staff is just wonderful. All the waiters are friendly, helpful, fun and genuine. The Owner sits at a table at the front of the restaurant, and greets you when you come in. Throughout the night he makes his rounds, talking to the guests, giving you a friendly pat on the back and making sure you are happy and comfortable! And the Chef, well .... enough to say, the food & wine in this place are heaven, so, hats off to him !!

The Atmosphere: the restaurant is quite large and, if you are not Italian (like me!) and are hungry early, and get there for 7:30pm you will find it empty .. don't let this put you off! By 8:30pm there will be 5 other tables dining with you, and by 10:00pm the place will be packed. Even on a weekday! So if you plan on eating early MAKE A RESERVATION! It's always the same: no tourists, all Italians, usually celebrating something - because the place is fancy! Not 'fancy' to mean overpriced or stuff - fancy in its decor, it's staff, it's attention to details. It's beautiful and elegant. At the same time you will always leave this restaurant feeling like you had a nice sit-down dinner in somebody's home: between every course the waiters or even the owner himself bring in some "nibbles" that are "from the Chef, on the house" and these are delicious things like Tuscan ham and cheese, delicious fried fegato (liver) and home-made, fresh, hot bread !!! As for the dessert: please see my pictures because, I have to admit, it's my favorite part of coming to Dai Toscani - I don't have a sweet tooth normally, but, eating dessert here is like being on the set of the beautiful 2006 film "Marie Antoinette" (I someone understands what I mean!) - the waiters, even if you order just a cup of coffee, bring out enormous glass vases filled with cantucci, that I mentioned before. Cantucci are delicious almond biscuits that go well on their own, with coffee or - better yet - with Vin Santo! Then more of the same enormous vases are brought out, willed with meringue - both the cantucci and the meringues come in lots of flavors: regular, chocolate, with nuts, with fruits ... and make me feel like a little princess, as they tower before me on the table! If you like the waiter will quickly get you an order of delicious fresh fruit: grades, oranges, figs, etc if you prefer something fresh ...

Truly, I could go on and on - thank you for every wonderful experience, anyone I have ever taken here absolutely loved it as much as I do, and I look forward to ever more dinners!!

Yes definately the food was really well prepared and tasty! What must be added is that they had a very luxirious way to present their various dishes and food! Lovely cuisine! Worth while going to! The taste of Italian food is very special and I enjoy everydish that I tasted! The desserts were also excellent!
