“Nice place to eat "pub food" in the centre of Rome”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 9, 2013

Went in quite some times, with friends, partners, etc. Always enjoyed.
Cannot book a table and during weekends there might be a lot to wait. A good reason to get a Peroni at the entrance!

“Dont be Fooled by the Buzziness”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 31, 2013

We were attracted in (like others!) because it was buzzing and full. The beer was excellent and cold. That was the end of the positives. The pasta was woeful. The meals going past resembled German style sausages etc except bizarrely with french fries. The table next to us had hamburger patties with fries. It was very cheap though - 23 euros for 2 pasta dishes, a beer and 500ml of red wine! As we sat there we couldn't help but think of all the places we could have eaten and he we were! Dont be fooled - have a beer at the bar and then keep on walking!!

“Average Food but Good Beer”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 22, 2013

We came across this place on one of our city walks and it was buzzling so we came back the next day for a late lunch. The place is open without closing through the day. We got there and understood to just walk in, find a table and sit ourselves. Our waiter came and he was a bit "cold" but warmed up as the meal progressed. Don't expect friendly staff but our service was prompt. The beer was very good and you sit among locals. We ordered a caprese salad to start. Tomatoes were not ripe, cheese was very good but nothing impressive. For our main meal we ordered bistecca alla fiorentina served with beans and a side salad. The steak was cooked to our specifications but a bit chewy, good portion, tasty but not excellent. Beans were the best part of the meal with freshly baked rolls that our waiter brought. Side salad was very simple. Prices were low. Not really interested in going back.

“Its a restaurant for locals with no taste”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 17, 2013

The restaurant was pretty full with locals, but the food was terrible. We waited around for the host to finish socializing outside so we could be seated. The server had a bad attitude, seemed like she didn't want to be there. The food was not good. I was expecting a good prosciutto bruschetta but instead received a piece of bread soaked in olive oil and a thin slice of average prosciutto. We ordered a t-bone steak that was too rough too eat, frozen ravioli and a meat and potatoes dish that was 5 slivers of beef and a few French fries. We couldn't get out of there fast enough and we were disappointed because it was a Rick Steve's recommendation. I think locals like fried food. We paid 88 USD for bad food.
