The service is brusque, the food ok... and while not the Hofbrauhaus a good atmosphere. Ok for lunch but wouldn't go back for dinner. Also gets quite crowded in the evening so show up early.

I have travelled quite a bit and usually go with the flow. At this restaurant, we were charged 4 euros to use olive oil with our bread. The waiter literally took the olive oil out of my daughter's hand when he felt we had used our quota. We asked for mustard and ketchup. The billed listed the condiments at 0.5 euro per packet. My wife read this guy the riot act but he said it was there policy. Support a fellow tourist by boycotting this place. The food wasn't that great anyway.

We had very good spaghetti alla carbonara and parmigiana di melanzane, while the amatriciana was just decent. These plates went for about 8 euros each. The waiter was in such a rush that he left you in mid-sentence, hoping that he had heard enough to actually fetch you the right item. He usually did.

I simply tried this place walking and walking with pleasure among the very interesting ancient part of Rome. Drinking and talking with the owners, my g-f and me discovered that this Birreria it's opened since one houndred of years! And since then, thousands of tourists and roman-citizens usually come here to relax, find the real taste of beer and good eating!
The varirty of beers, the authenticity of dishes, the good and crowded atmosphere, make this place as a meeting guaranteed place among friends
