I went here because the stay was included in a package. When we arrived they didn't know about our booking, I had to show and translate in italian what was written on it as it was German... A language that a Rome concierge HAS to know. After 10min they gave us a very small room with view... on a parking lot! A welcome cocktail was included, we have seen none, but we were also charged a bottle of water that we took out of the minibar. The dinner was also included in the package but they told us we could have just a 10% off the price restaurant. We decided to go to the city centre which is 10-15min. metro away. Needless to say that, although close to the metro station the position of this hotel in not strategical at all. The breakfast buffet was nice but the waiter were quite unfriendly.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the second, third or fourth floor!

We enjoyed our 4 night stay at Hotel Pulitzer. The staff was very Friendly and Helpful. The Metro is a 3 min walk away, and you can easily access the major sites from the Marconi Station +- 15 min will take you right to the Colosseum. The line (B) closes at about 11:00pm, so it's a bit of a spoiler when you're out and about in the city enjoying a late dinner as you have to rush to the nearest metro to get back to your hotel before the line closes. From the Vatican Area it can be a mad rush as you need to take Line A, then Line B in order to reach the Hotel. We nearly didn't make it the one night.... and ran our socks off trying to catch the train on time. I would rather stay more central (walking distance) the next time around. The Rooms were a bit small, but breakfast was very good. FYI pick up a Roma Pass at the Airport Information Center for 30 Euro. It includes all public transport (Tram, Bus & train) for 3 Days (Airport transfers not included) + entry to 2 Major Sites (Including the Colosseum - and you don't have to queue) and other discounts ect. for more info see http://www.romapass.it/

The hotel is located within a brief walk of the Marconi metro station (5 stops from Colosseo, 7 from Termini). Combined metro/bus tickets cost the equivalent of 6EUR/day, the trains are frequent and take less than 15 minutes to Termini, the main central railway.

This meant that the hotel was away from the tourist areas while being within very easy reach. A similar quality hotel in the city centre would be considerably more expensive. Check-in was straightforward with a small lobby and an adjacent bar which has a great informal lounge area. There is also a very pleasant local cafe between the hotel and the metro.

My room was 506 - which was not a great choice if cat-swinging was on your list of priorities - it really was quite narrow. That said, looking at the plan of the floor, it was the smallest room by some way so probably not typical. It had the benefit of a small balcony which would be pleasant in summer. The terrace on this floor also has an outdoor jacuzzi for guests. The room had an shower in the bathroom which was clean but compact. There was also a Satellite LCD TV with a variety of international news channels, a safe and a minibar fridge. Despite it's size, the room was perfectly adequate for my needs and I had a restful sleep each night. Room service is available with a 6 EUR surcharge.

Breakfast is one floor below the entrance, with the usual continental variety. The hotel was not full and so it was relatively quiet. The surroundings were comfortable and the service unobtrusive. The bar in the evening served typical local food and was a good place to relax with a final glass of wine. The barman in particular was the stand-out member of staff in the hotel. There was a reasonably equipped gym on the same level as the breakfast room. Check-out was quick and easy and they happily held my bag in safe custody.

Overall, this is a little gem of a hotel within easy reach of the tourist areas. It's quiet and unpretentious but has everything you need - it's easy to relax in and the wi-fi connection is reliable and most importantly, free. It would definitely be my first choice on a return to Rome - which is certain to be soon...

We stayed at this hotel for a short weekend break. The hotel is near the Marconi (not Manzoni) underground train station blue line. This is perfect if you want to visit the colloseum and vicinity but getting to the Vatican City is not easy on foot and requires change of underground trains. The hotel itself has a good welcoming atmosphere. It's probably the only decent priced hotel with a double bed (not twins joined together) in Rome. We chose the "breakfast included" option, which wasn't much to rave about. A selection of cold meats, bread, cereals and cakes along with tea and coffee. The room we stayed in was small but adequate with aforementioned double bed, sky channels on tv and tea/coffee facilities. The bathroom has good decor too. We did not use the main restaurant in the hotel. Reception were kind enough to keep our bags for the day after checkout so we didn't have to lug them around through the day.

The area around the hotel is dodgy after dark as mentioned in previous reviews as there are numerous prostitutes around. They don't bother you if you don't bother them but somewhat tarnishes the hotels rating in our opinion. We also felt that the hotel was a bit out of the way from the termini/central attractions. Food options and choice of outlets to eat around the hotel are almost non-existent even on a Friday evening.

Overall we would recommend the hotel to couples but not families due to the area and the lack of food related amenities.

Room Tip: Ask for a double bed when booking.

My boyfriend & I stayed in this hotel on the last week of November. Loved the decor, everywhere was clean and tidy with lovely little touches everywhere. The staff were very friendly and helpful and due to the metro being about a minutes walk down the road it was in the perfect location. Would definitely recommend to friends.

Stayed here for a 4 day business trip. Service was good, was warmly welcomed and any request was met. The breakfast was also of a decent standard. It is a short (5 min) walk to the metro, which is about 15 minute from the main terminal. Rooms are quite small, but as I was on my own this was fine. They were also nicely furnished. I would recommend the hotel, should you not want to stay in the centre of Roma.

This hotel is in a good location near the Marconi station, and is reasonably fresh and modern.
The rooms are small and feel cramped, and it is quite noisy due to the constant traffic.
The worst thing is the beds, which are so hard I found it impossible to sleep.
It's like sleeping on a futon.
I moved to another hotel after 2 nights.
