“78 euro for 2 people - small portions”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 20, 2013

I agree entirely with the review on October 8 by Kathryn F entitled "Disappointing" so I don't have much to add.

I am not sure why this is rated so highly. The portions were small and it was quite expensive for the amount of food you get. We had a side of mashed potatoes with truffle - and it was the size of a quarter with odd tasting truffles...and it was not cheap. The food is not traditional Italian, though it is generally well prepared. However, it's too expensive. My friend had beef with balsamic which wasn't bad. I already forgot what I ordered. The ambiance is nice - it is well decorated and extremely clean. Although the food was generally prepared well, I don't think it was worth the price.

“The perfect ending to the perfect trip!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 20, 2013 via mobile

Now that was enchanting.. A wonderful restaurant in a cozy little kept away spot.. The food was impressive. Starters, first course meals and second course meals were mouth-watering. The presentation of the food was also exceptional as was the service. Overall, it was a great dining experience. If you're hungry, make sure to order first and second course meals because the portions are on the smaller side. Lovely!

“Dolce Vita comes to life on a plate”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 12, 2013

I loved this restaurant and I've been back 3 times in the past year.

The staff are exceptional and greet us with complimentary wine on arrival each time.

I had the best duck ragout of my life in this place and an amazing Lobster tasting menu next time.

seated surrounded by images of Hepburn, Monroe and others you fit in with the stars thanks to the warmth of the staff treating you well, especially Clemente!

Not so much traditional Italian as modern chic Italian cuisine , with an excellent wine range, exciting desserts and a central location, if you want great value and excellent service, food and wine , I recommend Life.

“Nice food, confusion about word "lobster"”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 12, 2013

Nice place recommended by our hotel receptionist at Condotti.
Food and wine are delicious.
Service could be more welcoming (quite general concern in Roma).
On the menu carte, confusion about the wording "astice" and "lobster".
Got the pasta lobster and it was in fact a Norway Lobster, Langoustine, Dublin Bay prawn or scampi (pick up the term more suitable for your country). Nothing to do with the real lobster.
My sister in law got pieces of glass spread in her lasagne. But it was a one shot issue, admitted by the waitress who offered immediately to replace the dish.
Would go again to this restaurant as price/quality is well balanced.

“The best meal I've ever had perhaps?”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2013

Everything about Life is clean, modern, well organised, well prepared, well presented, and well chosen. The quality of the outdoor seating was the highest I've seen in Rome, and the staff knew how to provide service rather deliver than food on a plate.

I had a tasting menu, expensive but you wouldn't go to Life for just a mid-week evening meal. Probably the best dining I've tasted, along with a good choice of wine. Not too much food and not too little either.
