“A Scrumptious Lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 20, 2012

We were looking for somewhere to eat lunch and noticed the diner's meals at Recafe looked rather good, as we walked by. We were soon seated by a friendly waiter. Appetizer: Caprese salad to share. The buffalo mozzarella was a tad chewy for my liking, but it still tasted fresh and cooling. Mains: Margherita pizza (tomato, mozzarella and parmesan cheese) and Salame pizza (tomato, mozzarella and salami). The dough was cooked just how we like, although the dough in the centre of the pizza could have been a bit more crispy. The tomato and cheese topping was fresh and bursting with flavor. The salami was delicious and mild. My husband finished a whole pizza, while I very nearly finished all of mine. We were too full for dessert, which I would have loved to try - I noticed a few other diners' desserts looked amazing. We had espresso to finish and enjoyed our lunch immensely.

“Our best meal in Rome”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 15, 2012

We were recommended Recafe by a friend. We sat with the menu for only a few minutes when the manager asked if we would like any help choosing what to eat to experience a meal the Italian way (in a totally helpful rather than patronising way). What followed was a mouthwatering feast of fine Italian food, each plate of which we shared between the four of us: margherita pizza, a plate of fried cheeses and meats, pasta, then aubergine lasagne, followed of course, by Tiramisu and accompanied by a good red wine. We were so grateful for the helpfulness of all the staff, who seemed genuinely eager to serve and advise us, and the quality of the food was brilliant, especially considering the relatively cheap price. Would very much recommend this restaurant!

“The best mozarella I've ever tried”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 27, 2012

We wnt for the dinner with my friends. One of the friends was Italian and he recommended us to take mozarella with prosciutto as a starter. I am very glad we listened to his advice - it was really good. In fact, it had milk inside and it was so soft that it just melted in your mouth. Excellent!

“One of the best places we've eaten in Rome and best pizza ever”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 23, 2012

Recafe - unfortunately, got there only on the last day of our vacation for lunch...Would definately visit it lot of times if we had an opportunity. The pizza - was just excellent. I think I took the one that was called smth like Pizza Recafe with cherry tomatoes...Portions are really big, and the meat that was served for the other guests looked unbelievable...All food looked pretty sophisticated, and the place is well designed, very close to Corso street. Still have regrets thats we didn't manage to make it for the dinner - had other plans, but for sure I recommend this place!

“Go on a Sunday”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2012

While there isn't much to recommend the place it seems that it is the "thing to do" for Romans with children on Sunday's for lunch. What a great scene, if you like to get a lot of local color. The food is OK and it's priced right but I wouldn't go for that or on another day. But Sunday lunch is quite interesting.
