“Traditional japanese restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 18, 2013

The interior of the restaurant is very modern, the food is very good, little bit expensive, but OK. If you like sushi and you fell you need a change after couple of days of italian food, this won't disappoint you.

“Where is the OLD HAMASEI???”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 28, 2013

It used to be the best Japanese restaurant in Rome. I have been there several times in the past and I was always impressed by the quality of this place. The taste of Hamasei couldn't be compared to any other place around the city.
Last week I went there again, awared of changes in their kitchen, and aparently they have lost most of their quality! Service is excellent as always but unfortunately food is not... not anymore... What a pity...

“When in rome.....dont eat sushi”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 22, 2013 via mobile

My wife was craving some sushi and against our instincts we went out lookimg for the best sushi rome had to offer....hamasei was recomended....we are sushi lovers and have a good understanding of what is great , good, ok sushi.....

from the get go it was a disappointment....cold ademami....followed by sushi that was not that interesting or tasty....so next time you are in rome and get a crave for some sushi....ignore it....go get some pizza onstead.

“Expensive”

The place is nice, close to Piazza di Spagna, the service is very good, the menu is quiet complete, only no fantasy rolls (uramaki) ..in general quiet good ..but really too expensive.
