I was recommended to this "local" pizzeria by the SA in Fendi (the restuarant is just behind fendi) was told that they served the best pizza in Roma- and it proved to be very true!

The tables are quite tight (packed) together, so don't expect a fancy deco- we didn't spot out any tourists aside from us. We were one of the first ones who sat down (opens at 1pm for lunch) and the place filled up quite quickly within the first 30mins.

Would highly recommend this pizzeria for good food & extremely reasonable prices :D

We were in Rome during the New Year holiday and it was SO crowded. We have been going to Rome for New Year's for the past 15 years and I have never seen so many people. We had to wait in line at our favorite restaurants (which do not take reservations), before they opened, so we could get a seat.

The protocol at Leoncino is that you wait in line at the door with an electric gate and the owner opens the gate at 7 p.m. when the restaurant opens. Unfortunately, there were many people in Rome during the holidays who do not like to wait in line, so they barged in the side door before the opening time, making it almost impossible for those who had waited patiently in line to get a table.

That being said, once inside you are treated to the best pizza there is - tasty dough, thin, crispy, with bubbles and any toppings you want. They also have sausage, beans, calzones, bruschetta, beer and wine.

They are closed on Wednesday and open for lunch and dinner during the week and dinner only on weekends. During the holidays they changed their hours a bit and opened for lunch on the weekends, but that is unusual. When it is warm, there is outdoor seating along the side.

Prices are very reasonable, but it is cash only. Highly recommended!!

Ordered a capricioasa pizza (proschiutto, mushrooms, hams, olives, and eggs) and delighlty satisfied. The toppings were all fresh, although were not distributed evenly on the top of the pizza. The base is thin alla romana pizza, not suggested for people who like thick base pizza. We also ordered a portion of salami and found it fresh and pretty tasty. Price is comparably cheap, for a pizza is arround 9-11 euro. Just the day before, we buy some pizza around Plaza Spagna and very dissapoint with it. Leoncino is our consolation.

The pizza is amazing...wood fired oven, the way it should be! Waiter did not speak English...perfect! The tiramisu was very good. Everything is reasonably priced and its mostly locals at this joint. Honestly, a gret stop if you are in or staying in the area. No wow factors, just good food and a great experience.

This restaurant is an acceptable place to eat around the Spanish Steps. The atmosphere is pretty basic and everything and everyone inside is dominated by the "mamma". Some pizze are okay and have a nice topping (e.g. the one with beef's ham), others like the Pizza Napoli are a mess as it looks like a Margarita with only one fillet of anchovi on the top. That was more than disappointing! Several tries to complain about this were ignored.
