“Impressive wine bar”
Reviewed June 18, 2014 via mobile

We needed some wine after exploring Spanish steps. This place hit the spot. The restaurant only features food and wine from Lazio region. Ordered some charcuterie and asked for a savory white wine from the local area. We tried a grechetto grape...somewhat savory but not quite the super savory we prefer but it was pretty nice intro to lazio wines. I would describe the grape as floral notes with a deep mineral streak and decent body. There was limited fruit notes and I would guess that it is aged in stainless steel with no oak. This is just first impression so others may have more experience with this local grape.

Went to this restaurant with high hopes after the Tripadvisor reviews. We didn't have a booking but they squeezed us in then forgot about us. Finally after about 20 minutes we were served. Average steak dish and pasta which just tasted like it had a strong cheese sauce on it. Had better meals at a cheaper price close by.

One of our favourites roman restaurants , only high quality local LATIUM regional ingredients are used , from spring mineral waters to incredibly fine extra virgin olive oil , wines and vegetables such as amazing artichokes .. Excellent food and service !

“Trust your server”
Reviewed May 11, 2014

We arrived on Sat. nite without a reservation but were squeezed in. I tried to explain how I wanted a Savignon white and something like a Barolo wine and they tried to my disappointment. I finally asked what was good and the wine choices they made for me were fantastic. Their wines are all from Lazio province, or the Roma area.

Food was super tasty and I would definitely go again. Just put your wine choices in their hands.

“Food great, Wines Fantastic, Service Appalling!!”
Reviewed May 6, 2014

We went without a reservation early May and were told a table for 5 would be 20 minutes and we spent a few minutes choosing from the very extensive wine list and waiting at the bar for just over half an hour. Free olives and snacks helped plus super super value wines. But we finished the bottle and would have had another - if we had been asked! Eventually seated and chose unusual dishes from a limited menu. Managed to order another bottle of wine but we finished that before the food came. We waited and waited and waited. The food was really good and unusual including a good tripe dish and wizard pasta and lamb dishes. But the evening was ruined by the delays - overall we were in the restaurant for over 3 hours. I think that the manager simply did not know how to manage - a lot of shouting but not a lot of action! So perhaps make a reservation and see if another manager is on duty..... We would NOT risk going again. VFM was good as the whole meal and wine came to €30/head but we could have had at least one more bottle if we had managed to be served!
I must mention the wine list which must have had over 200 wines on it - starting at €15 and not running high - superb choice of local Lazio wines extremely good. Perhaps the solution is to go for a drink and if the place is not crowded then risk asking how long to be fed!!
