“Tipicamente classico”
Reviewed January 8, 2013

Girarrosto Fiorentino is ont of two tuscan restaurant with similar names and neon signs in the same vicinity. The other is Giarrarosto Toscana. Both share menus that are tipically tuscan and totally classical. Girarrosto Fiorentino is, overall, one notch above the other. At street level, the dining room is airy and lit as should be expected in such a ristorante.Much like a movie set of the 60's, with waiters in black suits and ties. Yet, the atmosphere is relaxed. Service is matter of fact, unobtrusive and highly efficient. Do try the antipasti della casa and ask to share a single portion: they will graciously accept and it should be enough to sample the simple taste of fresh ingredients. Unless you want to splurge in the gigantic bistecca alla fiorentina (1 kg of charbroiled beef for two persons), you could try the bistecca tartare: the maitre d' that prepares it at your table is quite a personnage and the end result is simply fabulous for raw meat lovers. Do indulge in the wine selections of the month: 50 Euros will buy a magnificient Brunello or Bolgheri. Overall not really inexpensive, but 150 Euros for two will buy a lovely evening, a good bottle of wine and a fine classic meal. As a premium you can pretend to be veramente italiano.

“Make sure you save room for dessert”
Reviewed January 7, 2013

delicious, very personal, just take the recommendations of the staff and be sure to get a dessert with the "strawberries from the woods". AND follow their wine recommendations!

“Great Restaurant in Rome”
Reviewed December 29, 2012

We enjoyed a great dinner and bottle of wine at this restaurant. The waiters were courteous and the service was very good. I had Ravoli with artichoke sauce which is something I never had and was excellent.

“Simply great”
Reviewed December 26, 2012 via mobile

An all around great meal. Started with pastas and risottos. The best were the risotto with truffle and bolognese with fresh pasta, but all were good. Top entrees were the the specialty steak that really was spectacular (carozza?) the milanese veal (also carozza), & veal with lemon. Side of Tuscan beans were awesome. We had cheese cake for desert that was nothing like the American version and was great. Long leisurely meal with great service. With about 90 euros of wine it came to 300 euros for 5.

“Outstanding...almost perfect”
Reviewed December 21, 2012

We will definitely put this on our list of places to go in Rome. The dinner and service were great. The only reason for the four stars is that we wanted the lamb chops and they were out...5 stars in my book is that everything has to be perfect.

We shared the antipasto sampler (large enough for more than two) along with the steak tartar which was prepared table side ad lamb shank, both of which were very good. You MUST try the home made biscotti and limoncello which were outstanding.
