Girarrosto Fiorentino is ont of two tuscan restaurant with similar names and neon signs in the same vicinity. The other is Giarrarosto Toscana. Both share menus that are tipically tuscan and totally classical. Girarrosto Fiorentino is, overall, one notch above the other. At street level, the dining room is airy and lit as should be expected in such a ristorante.Much like a movie set of the 60's, with waiters in black suits and ties. Yet, the atmosphere is relaxed. Service is matter of fact, unobtrusive and highly efficient. Do try the antipasti della casa and ask to share a single portion: they will graciously accept and it should be enough to sample the simple taste of fresh ingredients. Unless you want to splurge in the gigantic bistecca alla fiorentina (1 kg of charbroiled beef for two persons), you could try the bistecca tartare: the maitre d' that prepares it at your table is quite a personnage and the end result is simply fabulous for raw meat lovers. Do indulge in the wine selections of the month: 50 Euros will buy a magnificient Brunello or Bolgheri. Overall not really inexpensive, but 150 Euros for two will buy a lovely evening, a good bottle of wine and a fine classic meal. As a premium you can pretend to be veramente italiano.
