We went to this tour on November 2nd this year, and it was a lovely experience. Our tour guide was super knowledgable about the artwork in the museum. She gave us information about the Sistine Chapel before we went to see it, and that helped because you can't really talk in that room. My favorite part was St. Peter's Basillica. It's an amazing church and we saw it on a religious holiday. After the tour, we walked up to the top of the dome and the view was so worth it!

Justine was an amazing guide through the Colosseum providing unique details not otherwise known. Better than any history lesson. She was a vivid communicator painting the picture of the Roman times. She took time to share incredible details of this amazing place. We had time for pictures and bathroom breaks. Have your walking shoes on, you will see LOTS! Highly recommend City Wonders tours if available. You always get your money's worth!

This tour was absolutely fab went with my sister and friend and we had the best time. Our travel guy Jonathon was funny, talkative and was answering all questions fired at him. The pizza we had tasted amazing and the view from Mount Vesuvius was superb. Absolutely recommend !!

This was an awesome day trip that I highly recommend. It was a very long day because Rome is a 3 hour drive from Pompeii but well worth the trip. We met our guide Robert at the designated meeting point and departed on time. In the morning we drove to Mount Vesuvius and climbed to the rim of the crater. That was followed by an amazing traditional pizza for lunch and then an afternoon tour of Pompeii. Robert was knowledgeable, funny and (most importantly) interesting. He controlled the trip so well that everything proceeded smoothly. We were a little late getting back to Rome, but that wasn't a problem as we were dropped right at the Metro station.

Paulo's English was excellent, he was clearly knowledgeable, and he was very considerate of two guests with mobility issues.
Note that this tour is fairly strenuous. If stairs, hills, and rough surfaces are a significant issue for you, you should probably pass this one up. My wife's FitBit indicated 2-3 miles of walking for the entire tour, which covers the Colosseum, Forum, and Palatine Hill.
"Skip the Line" does not mean you immediately enter the Colosseum at the start time of your tour. It means your group has a scheduled entry time about 10 minutes after the nominal start of your tour, after which you have to pass through airport-type security, which can take a while. We were off-season (Nov) and it took about 10 min.
The radios and headsets provided are great. You don't have to struggle to hear the guide or stand right on top of him all the time.
This tour packs a lot into 3 hr; there isn't a lot of time to explore something that takes your interest. The venues are amazing. You are literally walking in the footsteps of ancient Romans in some places.

A well organised trip and would always use Dark Rome / City Wonders for any excursion where they operate

First thing I’d say is make sure you book in advance! The queues even at 10am were huge! The tour itself is very good, showing you all of the highlights of the Vatican. Our tour guide, Laura, was excellent, explaining everything in great detail and answering questions. I’d also recommend spending the €10 at the end of the tour and going up to the cupola of St Peters Basilica - a lot of narrow steps but the view is amazing.

You ABSOLUTELY have to book a skip the line tour like this to get into these places! We went in low season ( end of October) everyone was telling us how lucky we were because it wasn’t busy, but the lines were down the block for the Vatican museums, and about 2 hours for St. Peter’s Basilica. This tour was SO worth the money! We didn’t Have to wait to get in anywhere, and the guides were great with explaining all the important highlights so we didn’t waste time looking at things we knew nothing about.
Nicolas was our guide for the Colosseum tour and I’m so sorry, but I forget the name of the lady we had in the morning ( she was expecting) they were both great!

Fabio spoke great English, easy to understand and knew his stuff. There is SO much to see here and I feel like favio did a great job showing us as much as possible without letting us get too overwhelmed.
