“Highly Recommend Crosti Hotel in Rome”
Reviewed January 3, 2011

My husband and I stayed at the Crosti Hotel from Dec. 26th – 30th. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful in booking our tickets to a museum and providing directions to the various sites in Rome. We also communicated with the receptionist several times by email before our arrival and we received immediate replies regarding our inquiries.
We booked a single room, which was small, but it was very clean and modern with a flat screen tv, refrigerator, safe, and newly remodeled bathroom. The shower was very small, but we assume this may be standard for some European hotels. The bed linens seemed new and the housekeeping service was great. The room did not include an alarm clock/radio or ironing board/iron, but this was not a problem for us. The breakfast room was pleasant with a very nice selection of food, and the staff was very friendly and offered quick service – we looked forward to breakfast each morning! We also used the hotel’s taxi service both ways to the airport and recommend this as a form of transportation, as it was reliable and timely for our pick up to and from the airport. We thought that the hotel was located in a safe section of Rome and did not encounter any problems. If you are fine with walking, many of the sites are easily accessible by foot, and there are a few restaurants very close to the hotel. For staying over the holidays, our room rate was excellent at 95 euros for the first few nights and there was a slight increase for the last nights due to the New Year’s holiday, but the rate was a bargain regardless of the slight increase. If we visit Rome again, we would definitely stay at this hotel, and we recommend it to family and friends if they are looking for a nice place to rest at night but without major amenities – thank you Crosti Hotel for a nice stay!

The hotel is good value, clean and offers reasonably sized rooms for Italy. It is 10 mins walk from the main station, Termini, which makes it easy to get to from airport, as most shuttle buses, buses and trains go to Termini. It is a bit tricky to find the first time, (mostly because Termini is so big), but it has many decent resturants nearby. You can get internet if you have your own laptop using lan, and it is reasonably priced (about 3 euro for 24hours). The staff are helpfull and friendly, and the receptionist gives you a map with the hotel marked on it, all the major sites, and shows you the location of good nearby resturants.

I would recommend this hotel as it is good value and in an ideal location for site seeing.

We arrived at the Crosti Hotel for a six-night stay. We were greeted by very polite staff. The room was small, but it was clean, comfortable and a great place to return to at the end of a long day of sightseeing. The staff scheduled all of our tours, even our return shuttle to the airport. Breakfast was included in the price of the room, and it was an excellent continental breakfast with plenty of choices, including fresh fruits. I would return to this hotel any time I return to Rome because it was in a good location, felt safe, and had exceptional customer service.

Stayed here for 3 days in early December and was pleased with the hotel. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was quite nice for a European hotel. The room was on the larger side for Rome and had a shower with an actual door that closed (none of the other places I stayed at in Italy had one) and a real blowdryer, not the awful 50's versions that blow cold hair that a lot of others have.

My only complaints were that theer was no wi-fi and the safe in the room didn't work. But I'd definitely consider staying here again. For $63 Euros, it's a bargain.

I stayed in Crosti Hotel with my 16year old daughter for a special weekend in Rome. We had a great weekend, we were very comfortable in the hotel which is in a good location, close to the centre but not too noisy. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was delicious. Best of all, after we had a problem with the shuttle bus to the airport on the way home and incurred additional travel expenses, Signor Crosti personally made sure that we were compensated for the extra expenses. I would definitely stay at Crosti Hotel again and will recommend it to all my friends.

As others have pointed out, this hotel is quite near the railway station, about 700 metres to the north-east and probably not worth taking a taxi unless your luggage is heavy. OK, what stands out?

Well, breakfast if good if not extensive. I particularly like the tortilla-type product and consumed this every morning. Their line in cake is also rather good! The coffee was good and you get a pot not simply a cup. The woman in charge of the breakfast set-up was very pleasant and competent.

The bedroom I had on the second floor faced the intersection with Via Montebello but when I state intersection do not go thinking there is a constant stream of traffic. It's principally a one-way system around this area and there is quite a lot of traffic but it's not at speed. Having said that, I had to keep the double-glazing shut because of the volume of noise (but then at home I hear virtually nothing and, so, it's the contrast).

The room was not large - a double bed, wardrobe, desk and two side units - but adequate. No bath tub - just shower - but that doens't bother me. There is a small refrigerator in the desk unit and there are soft drinks but do beware... they are not free! I did not think they were but expected a price list... so was surprised to find that I paid the same for still water (local) as Coca Cola and Fanta, i.e. two euros (a bit steep).
