“Appartments 52 Via del Banco di Santo Spirito”

There should really be two sites for Casa de' Fiori as judging by the other reviews it is a very different experience in each of the two locations. Our self catering studio apartment for 2 adults 2 children was ideal. Cool, clean, peaceful - no road noise at all. Aircon and wifi worked perfectly. Clean bathroom and although it was self catering, the beds were made every day. Very convenient for the old part of Rome. 10 mins walk to the Vatican. We loved Castel d'Angelo and all the nightlife by the bridge/river.
Francesca (from the hotel) was very helpful but we didn't realise how easy it was to use the free phone in the hall to contact reception at the main hotel site to get more information and wished we had asked more. There is no infomation provided in the apartment and we didn't find the supermarket until the last day. Having said that we didn't starve as there is a super bakery/deli a few doors down the street.
Avoid eating around the Piazza Navona as it is a tourist nightmare - the worst "italian" food that I have ever been served. Francesca told me afterwards that everybody who knows avoids it.

Room Tip: Ask for Banco di Santo Spirito if you want peace and quiet

My husband and I stayed here for part of our honeymoon and absolutely loved it! We walked EVERYWHERE! It's also right in the area with all the restaurants and bars so we felt like we were always right in the action! The service was wonderful and they have free internet. I definitely would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Rome!

My boyfriend and I spent 3 days and 2 nights at Casa de'Fiori. We took a taxi from the airport and when we arrived they told us we were not booked for that location. Apparently they have several of them. They covered the cost of the roughly ten minute taxi ride and explained that when we make reservations online, those companies do not give them contact information so they are unable to advise travelers which location they are booked at. The location we stayed at is convenient. It is across from Castel Sant'Angelo and close to other touristic attractions like the Colosseo and Vatican. Our room consisted of a double bed, which was not two twin beds put together, had a safe, a nice restroom but the room was a bit small. It was clean, no complaints about that. Paula, the girl who works at this location was helpful when she was there. She is there until about 3pm and after that there is no one from the hotel to assist you. At least in that location. This location does have an elevator. The main location does not. The last night we were unable to get the AC going in our room and had to sleep with the windows open but it was not hot. The next morning they explained that the AC will not work if you do not shut the windows all the way. Which I'm guessing that's what happened. We checked out on Sunday morning but had a few more hours until our train left for Venice so we thought we could leave our luggage with the hotel while we roamed the city. We were unable to leave it at the location we stayed at because Paula would be gone by the time we returned. We asked her if they would cover our taxi to the main location and she said no. When we finally got to the main location there was no one there. We buzzed almost ten minutes until another traveler let us in. We then waited at the main reception almost 20 minutes. No one ever came. We took the risk and left our luggage there and left. Overall I would stay at this hotel again but we did not like the fact that we have to move to other locations only because they cannot inform us of which location our room is at.

We met our group at this hotel and half of our group was assigned to a different location. They have more than one location for the hotel buildings. At first it seemed like a pain because we had our luggage and toddler to repack into a cab but the staff accompanied us in the cab and paid the tab. She showed us to our new building (on Ponte Sant Angelo?) which did have an elevator, which was great since we had the stroller (there were still one or two steps to go up). Our group had several rooms that were larger and down the same hallway. The room was wonderful. It was small but had a couch and it was very clean. They had a large family come in the next night so they ask us to move to the very next room which wasn't a big deal. The breakfast in the common area was great. The staff was very pleasant. I thought the location was excellent. We walked from there to the Pantheon and all the way to the Colloseum and the Vatican.

We stayed 3 nights in Jul 2010 with out 15 and 8 year old daughters in a quadruple room. Strange structure / layout. 5 floors all connected by a sufficiently spacious spiral staircase (no lift !) ... gound floor is an entrance only ... and top floor a storage room ... each of the other 3 floors have about 3 or 4 rooms off a central area ... floor 1 contains a reception area, floor 2 has a comfortable common/sitting room + internet, and floor 3 is used for breakfast. Initially a bit purturbed by the external hotel frontage being only a green metal door and street number on the wall (79 or 83 - i can't recall) .... not even a hotel name or sign! ... it's easy to miss. Thankfully our taxi driver from Termini Station (Eur 8 + Eur 1 per bag) dropped us to within 20 feet and pointed it out. Dario & Francesca, the hosts were very welcoming and helpful. Great central location ... less than 5 minutes to Piazza Navona and 10 to the Pantheon it also overlooks its own market square - you have well over 20 restaurants within a 3 minute radius. Satelitte TV with Sports & Movie channels in the rooms. Eur 180 per night for our room which included a good choice of breakfast foods each morning. We chose this hotel based on location, tripadvisor reviews and value for money. We have stayed in a hotel in rome before - very small rooms by comparison and very formal. Casa De' Fiori was an excellent choice for us - spacious by Rome's standards, clean and tastefilly decorated - a lovely hotel, where we felt both at the heart of things and very much at home.

Loved this little hotel. Only 9 rooms. Great location just off the square with shops and restaurants. No elevator so, if you can't do steps, book somewhere else. If you can do steps, the rooms are worth the climb. Cute little marble winding staircase. 9 rooms on 3 different floors. Small rooms but clean and cute. Francesca greeted us and let us keep our bags there until check in. Serviceman and breakfast monitor were very pleasant and very helpful. This is like a small, quaint B&B. They made all of the breakfast items and the wonderful smells filled the halls the night before. Continental breakfast was yummy with breads, pastries, fruit, juice and coffee. There was a street party in the streets below our window until 3 a.m. or so, but it didn't keep us up. It was just part of the area culture. If you like small and quaint in a good location, Casa De'Fiori is a nice choice.

Room Tip: Rooms small and nice

We loved our stay at Casa de Fiori! We took the 45 euro car service from the airport, which was worth it for us. Location was well within walking distance (15-20 minutes) from the Vatican, Piazza Navona, the Pantheon. Our room was huge (the one on the main street- which was noisy at night, but we were ok with that), which I'm sure is unusual for Rome: high ceilings, big bed, fold out couch, small kitchen, and bathroom. About the only negative would be if you have a lot of luggage the elevator is tiny and so I ended up carrying our stuff up the stairs, but that's to be expected in a good location in any big city. Rooms were set up as apartments with a common area. Breakfast was really good (by far the best out of two other hotels we stayed at in Italy) with prosciutto, cheese, bread, yogurt, fresh fruit, juice, milk, cereal. When I asked about more strawberries for our small child Paola even went out of her way and walked to a nearby store to get more! Casa de Fiori is definitely a great place to stay!
