Description: Just off the heaving via del Corso you will find an outpost of civility and authentic Roman feeling in Al Vantaggio. Founded in 1920, this traditional eaterie was originally a tavern for carriage drivers, but now has a much more comfortable ambience half-paneled walls, 17th century style frescoes, white tablecloths, artfully folded napkins, air conditioning. Run by a pair of brothers who grew up with this restaurant and are dedicated to it, Al Vantaggio is a relaxing and elegant place to enjoy a true Roman kitchen with a few Calabrian twists. Dishes include a rather spectacular spaghetti con frutti di mare, rich oxtail stew, and home made tiramis. Italian wines complete the picture.

“Out of the way experience”
Reviewed April 13, 2014

This restaurant is down a little lane off one of the main shopping streets. Staff friendly and helpful with recommendations, the food wholesome and well cooked. The wine, at around €18 was lovely as well. Very busy, atmospheric and noisy, just like a good Italian restaurant should be. Recommended.

“Nice food and nice staff”
Reviewed March 10, 2014 via mobile

My wife and I was enjoying a nice night here. Delicious classical italian food and wine. The waiter was helpful, charming and awake. She reccomended the tiramisu she had made her self. It tasted excellent. Reccomendable.

“A great pizza.”
Reviewed March 1, 2014

We were on our way to a concert at All Saints Church, Via del Babuino and wanted get a quick bite to eat before the concert. Came across this place while looking for somewhere near the concert. We ordered pizza and it was delicious and didn't take too long, we were in a rush and only had about 40 minutes until the concert started. I thought it was reasonably priced and would certainly eat there again, but I'd make sure I had enough time to pick something else and spend time enjoying it with a bottle of wine.

“Good Central Restaurant”
Reviewed February 23, 2014

Found this in a quiet side street by chance. Very comfortable chairs and tables, clean toilets. Really good welcome, attentive staff, food pretty good - parma ham and melon very good texture and flavour, spaghetti really good, saltimbocca alla romana excellent - perfect portions. House wine very good, good value overall. Scampi was a bit dry but good flavour. Seemed a lot of regulars turning up. Got busy mid Saturday evening. Good bar attached. Was too cold for us to sit outside but would be great if warmer.

“Good restaurant”
Reviewed January 15, 2014 via mobile

This restaurant was suggested by the clerk of our hotel, and It was the best lunch in Rome for us. The food was prepared nicely and in a traditional way. Service was quick and nice. In a quiet street close to via del Corso. We sat inside, and was quiet well decorated. I recommend to anyone.
