I stayed at B&B Savoia for 6 weeks this summer 2012 while studying in Rome. Augusto was a fabulous landlord. He made sure he was present when I arrived and showed me around. He gave me his contact information, made sure I was able to connect to WiFi, and even emailed me different restaurants to check out in the area. He gave me a map and circled different places I should see and helped me figure out which way to take to school. He was so great to work with. I was able to keep food in the refrigerator and use the kitchen at any time to cook. I always felt safe and secure in B&B Savoia. The neighborhood was great with (in my opinion) the best gelato just a block and a half away and I felt safe walking home at night. My room was extremely clean. I got new sheets put on my bed weekly and everything was cleaned top to bottom frequently. If I had any troubles I was always welcome to contact Augusto (and I did a few times) and he quickly helped with the situation. Augusto also helped me with taxi service to the train station. He is a very kind man and I will always stay at B&B Savoia when staying in Rome. It was difficult being away from home for 6 weeks, but Augusto made B&B Savoia a wonderful place to call home while in Rome. Thank you Augusto!

Me and my friend visited Rome in September and we spent three nights in the Venezia room.
The room was spacious, with beautiful floor tiling, antique furniture and a private bathroom. The shared kitchen was well equipped and clean. A very positive thing about B&B Savoia is the friendly and helpful landlord who gave us a lot of useful tips.
Perhaps it would be good to have "B&B Savoia" written on the outside doorbell, because one evening I appeared in front of the building, my roommate was already inside with the keys and I wasn't able to reach him on his cell phone :) Otherwise our experience was really great and we do recommend the place!

Thanks for your review!

I have to agree with you with the label at the bell.
Instead the "Fagioli Savoia 333 1813314" we have [see image our website image gallery], the "B&B Savoia" you suggested would work better.

Ciao e grazie from Rome

We (my fiance and I) visited Rome in May 2012 and we spent four nights in the Magnolia room. We were pleased with everything - design, atmosphere, cleanliness, bathroom. The B&B Savoia has a very good location, very close to all the importants places to visit. Augusto was the best host we could have had (very welcoming and he gave us a lot of good tips) and and for sure we'll choose B&B Savoia for our next stay in Rome.

We spent 4 nights in the Magnolia room, spacious and clean - perfect for our budget travel to Rome. It is close to bus stops, so if you learn which buses to go on (drivers aren't always that helpful), it is perfectly ok and within reach without having to taxi around the place. It is situated in a quiet neighborhood, and I - a light sleeper - had no trouble sleeping (despite the hard bed) as we heard almost no noise anywhere.
Computer free to use, and a shelf of our own in the fridge.

I agree you feeling about Roman Bus: "Better to know which bus you need before going to the bus stop".

My husband and I stayed at this B&B on our last night in Rome. Apparently, without its' owner, the Savoia is really not that great. We were welcomed by someone else into the room, got a key, were shown around, and that was that. There was no service whatsoever. Our wireless didn't work, but because there was no phone with which to call Augusto, we couldn't get it fixed. We also had a question regarding taxi service to the airport - again, without service there was no way to know. We also could not get our bill because we had to slide money under the door (as we had only paid a downpayment through the website when we came in). Breakfast was very meager, there was a yogurt and UHT milk in the fridge, plus a refrigerated pastry. We couldn't get the stove-top to work in order to heat up some water for coffee in the morning, and again - no way to contact Augusto. Also, the TV was filled with adult channels like Arab Babes XXX (yeah, very strange). Overall, very disappointed. I'm guessing that when Augusto is around, things are much nicer.

I've appreciated your time spent in this review to my place. We take every reviews very seriously, especially when our guests are not completed happy with our place.

I need first to be sure you know that "the service" (in the most wider meaning) we provide follows Italian low requirements.
Which means that when you refer to "money" and "presence", B&B Savoia act as Italian law asks.

After a deep analysis to your complain - on my side - I can only see 1 of those many as valid.
In fact I thank you for your feedback about TV channels. We're already added a "Warning message" to our infobook, beside remote controls, and we are working on how to firewall them, where possible.

Unfortunately, those remaing complains of yours seem to be are far away from reality.
One example: my phone number (on this very same page, on many other web pages, on every mail message I send, ) is even carved in brass on the label of the ring bell you rang at your arrival. It's difficult to me to understand how you can write "...there was no phone with which to call Augusto..."

Since we take complains really seriously (this is our work, after all), I had to write my complete replay (with links and pictures) to your review on our website [see above on this very page] with a title page "Efrat B : a disappointed review on TripAdvisor" (right menu, on green).
By this my reply, I tried to give more elements you may want to considered before the overall feeling, which - as such - I fully respect.

As usual, I'm available to listen and discuss with more details.

Kind regards

We spent three nights in Rome at the start of a trip round Italy and had a great stay in B&B Savoia. We stayed in the Venezia room which had its own ensuite and both the room and bathroom were exceptionally clean even if the decor was not the most modern. There was a kitchen for those who would want to cook for themselves but we just made use of the breakfast instead. Our shelf in the fridge was replenished with biscuits, croissants, yoghurts, juice and even fresh fruit which was much appreciated. We chose B&B Savoia because the prices nearer the centre were much more expensive, but we were happy to walk to most places and there were several underground stops nearby too. We found a good variety of restaurants within a 10-15 minute walk, especially around the Borghese Gardens. Overall, a great stay and we would definitely recommend B&B Savoia.

Thanks for your time reviewing my place!
We are lucky with all those nice restaurants we have nearby (Piazza Alessandria, Villa Borghese, etc).
In my opinion, this is good because - since we are not in the standard tourist area - Restaurants are more "Italians" (not too oriented to tourists).

Ciao e grazie

We stayed for two nights in the Magnolia room. The whole experience was very good, the room was beautiful and had everything that we needed. Breakfast could be improved but apart from that we could not fault our stay. Augusto's reception was brilliant and he gave us all of the information that we required for our trip.
