“Antipasta java-bomb!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2013

I first tried this restaurant 12 years ago and have come back every few years on my trips to Rome. We always order the antipasta, which is a set price per person, and the waiters bring dish after dish of various types of beans, veggies, meatballs, prosciutto, mozzarella, melon, and more. It's pretty unique and very delicious. We had one bad meal there once, because I think they forgot to bring out several of the plates, so if you go, "remind" them to remember "mozzarella", for example, or "the meatballs" or whatever you can think of, practically. I never tried any of their hot dishes or pastas. It's a fun experience for anyone who's tired of pasta/pizza Italian that is pretty much all is exists in this country, which isn't too shabby, of course (I'd kill for a decent hamburger or some Thai, after living here for a year). It's at a great location, 20 min from the Vatican, 20 from Roma Centro.

“Authentic!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2013

We had a new year eve dinner at the restaurant and the countdown. The dishes they served were authentic Italian and there ware lots of the local people. Nice atmosphere, no fuss like tourist restaurants. Wine, water, coffee and sparkling wine were included in the price. On top of that, they offered traditional lentils and Spumante when welcoming the new year together. It was a good start to the new year.

“Very gOod”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 2, 2013 via mobile

We styled at the Ave Roma and Vincenzo recommended this place. The service is excellent, food to die for and prices not bad. The anti pasti is superb and a good bottle of Prosecco isn't expensive. We went back every night for more. FamiLy friendly they aren't fussed with kids and the best thing s that. The locals haunt this place got to be good.

“Decent food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 21, 2012

I have been there once for lunch and we chose to sit outside since it was a very nice summer day. Unfortunately that was a mistake. The cars were passing by constantly, causing lot of noise and unpleasant smell + we got a table that blocked one entrance door to the residential apartments and we had some people coming out and going in, making us move so they could pass. All of that negative distraction pulled our attention away from food that was, if not more, then decent for sure.
The prices are higher then average and we saw some people leaving because of that and since the menu is all in Italian, the couple sitting next table got confused and expected something different then they actually got.
My recommendation is to find a sitting place inside, it will grant you better experience.
