Our first experience at Orso 80 was 17 years ago. On this our latest trip to Rome, we felt we had to seek it out and try it again. As it turns out, our apartment was almost right around the corner and my memory, shaded as it was by the intervening 17 years led us unerringly back to their door.
This time we didn't even need to see the menu. We simply asked our waiter if they still served their "world famous antipasto table".
Having experienced the joys of their antipasti before, we were smart enough not to order a follow up dish. I lost count of the number of plates our waiter bore to our table, but they numbered close to twenty. With 2 light eating women at the table, the antipasti was more than enough food for us all. A couple of bottles of wine and our evening was complete.
A short stroll through the warm late summer evening to the Piazza Navona for some gelatto made for a perfect end to our Roman Holiday.
