“Buongiorno Roma B&B al Pigneto in Rome”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 13, 2009

I have been in this B&B several times now and have returned just yesterday from a five days visit. The consistency of good cleanliness, service, value-for-money and rooms remains very high. The location surroundings varies from very pretty to less, remains nevertheless fantastic in terms of connectivity, good shopping value, great bargains, without mentioning the opportunity it offers anyone who wishes to forge really good and genuine contacts. At less than 2km away from the Roman walls and 3km from the central Rail Stations (Termini) BR B&B is an excellent value for money place to be in, taxis pick up is never a problem and the owners are very protective towards their guests and provide invaluable information against any taxi driver prone to take advantage of foreigners. Patrizia & Nicoleta will do anything to ensure your permanence is comfortable and memorable, a brilliant source of information for cultural and social events and extremely kind people. Each time I return I always find a little improvment. In times of recession they seem to be standing the test of time, furthermore they take on board any constructive feedback. Very very good. We stayed in Buongiorno Roma for a whole week and were most satisfied with everything about the accommodation. The B & B is on the top floor of a quiet residential building and has three nice and clean rooms with private baths, AC, TV and free WLAN. Right next to the rooms is a kitchen area reserved for breakfast and guests to use. The kitchen includes a fridge, microwave oven, gas stove etc. so it's also possible to do some cooking if you like. There is also a PC for guest use if you don't happen to carry a laptop.
The hostess Patrizia is most kind and helpful and will see to that you have everything you need. She is also very flexible about the arrival (we arrived after midnight) and departure times, so don't be afraid to ask i.e. an earlier breakfast. She can also provide you with information about tourist attractions (also stuff that's not in guidebooks! ;-), give out maps and tips about which bus lines to take, suggest good local restaurants etc. She also helped us to get the local transportation tickets on the first day and showed the way to the local train stop Filarete. All of this was most appreciated when we were just getting our bearings. And as a totally unexpected bonus, Patrizia took us on a tour around Rome by night in her car which was a perfect end to our holiday! We also got a lift to the Termini station when we were leaving which just goes to show how nice she is.
I would sincerely recommend this B & B to everyone planning to visit Rome. It isn't in the exact centre of the town, but the public transport gets you quickly wherever you like to go. We'd definitely stay here again!

The B&B is much cheaper than others in Rome as it is a little way out of the centre of town (about 4km) its a bit too far to walk but there is a very regular train and bus service available. This means that you will need to get public transportation. The B&B is very stylishly decorated and the room is a good size. Breakfast is toast, croissants, fruit and yoghurts with tea/coffee and fruit juices.

The owner Patrizia was very kind attentive and helpful. Overall if you don't mind using public transportion and you want a good sized room that is well presented but fairly cheap this is a good option.

The train to Filarete (the stop outside the hotel) starts from Termini in the centre of Rome, however Termini is probably the biggest train station I have ever seen so make sure you get directions from Patrizia before your arrival.

What a wonderful hostess at this B&B. This place is on the top floor of a building. Wonderful bedroom with your own bathroom.

The family here is wonderful. I couldn't say how nice they were. Me and my wife only stayed one night, but it was definately a place we would stay again. They even arranged a friend to drive us to the airport cheaper than a taxi!!!

I felt like I was staying with my grandma. Always loving and wonderful. She was there to greet us with drinks and see if we were ok.

Wondeful breakfast made.

There is internet here too if you ask. Just something to check out your email.

The only bad part is the location. It's further away so it's away from less people speaking english (since we're just dumb tourists). From the Termini, go to the far east of the train station were there are yellow smaller trains (1 euro for each ticket). It doesn't take that long to get there. Then off at the Filarete stop, go further down to the correct street and go left. It's not very far, but a little tricky.

  • Liked — The hostess (she made you feel like you were home).

We stayed at the Buongiorno Roma for 4 nights. This family-run B&B is located near the Filarete train station, which is about 6 stops from the main Rome terminus (Stazione Termini) and takes about 20 minutes. Another convenient way to get to the hotel is via the 105 bus that also departs from the Termini and takes about the same time (maybe a few minutes more if traffic bad). The B&B is located at about a 3 minute walk from the station. We chose this place mostly for the price (70 Euros/night) which included breakfast. The B&B has about 4 rooms and is located on the 6th floor of a residential building. Patrizia, the host, is very friendly and speaks English fairly fluenty. She served a decent, European-style breakfast (croissant, cereal with milk, yogurt, and coffee) every morning and was very attentive to our needs. The room itself was very clean, had AC, TV, and was fairly spacious (by European standards). All rooms in this B&B had a private bathroom; the shower stall (and the elevator) was a bit small. However, this was not a problem for us (I anticipated this given that it is Europe). There are coffee bars and restaurants close by. What this B&B lacks for in proximity, it makes up in its comforts. I would definitely recommend this place to couples (travelling without children). Consider emailing the B&B directly it you wish to stay here (Patrizia's sister in London is the main contact who replies promptly and is very accomodating).
