“Pleasant hotel in great location”
Reviewed November 10, 2013

Spending four November nights in the centre of Trastevere was a real treat for us. We liked the room, the breakfasts and the friendly and helpful staff a lot. We will choose to return here next time we visit Rome.

Conveniently located among Trastevere's narrow cobbled streets, the Residenza comprises 6 rooms in a 17th century(?) building. It is a satellite of a larger hotel a few blocks away. In consequence reception is only staffed in the morning and early evening. The breakfast buffet was good considering the small number of rooms served. Our room was large, with traditional high wooden ceiling, tiled floor and hand-stencilled wall. There was a good powerful shower and tub. We walked to the major sites (colosseum, forum, Vatican, Trevi etc). A big plus is the large choice of eateries in Travestere very close to the Residenza, many inexpensive (we loved the Augusto).

Perfect location in the Trastevere neighborhood (with many cafe's, restaurants, little shops, quaint streets for exploring), close to the Tiber River and the #23 bus line, and walkable to the Collusium (if you like/areable to walk a mile or so). Friendly staff who were willing to assist with any questions/needs. Our room was quite large and well-appointed, very comfortable. The premises were clean and well-kept and buffet breakfast was a great way to start the day. We were only a block from the Plaza Santa Maria, a fun place for evening drinks and enjoying the local atmosphere. After a day of sightseeing with the crowds, an evening in Trastevere was perfect! We would definitely recommend this charming boutique hotel and would love to be able to return again.

very nice boutique hotel. We really like the location - so close to the Trastevere main fair while at the same is in a very quite street.

We've stayed in a room with bunk beds and a queen bed - although very small, I thought the room was very practically appointed with tasteful decoration, as well as being very clean.

I also loved the nice indoor terrace just near the reception - I get up quite early in the mornings and have really enjoyed reading here until the breakfast time.

People at the reception were very helpful and polite.

breakfast was quite average - meaning the food. The service staff was great and the breakfast room was quite nice as well.

When in Rome, we probably would stay here again.

This was a fairly large room in an old house. You cannot come closer to Piazza Santa Maria di Trastevere. I will be happy to return. I missed the possibility to have a view from the window, I have had better hotel breakfasts, and some of the top quality service in luxury hotels was missing. But the rooms had high quality and clean, but the staff was very friendly and personal.I have had better pillows, byt the bed was large.

Nice, cozy hotel in Trastevere section of Rome, located 1 minute from the plaza where the Santa Maria de Trastevere church is located. Don't miss out on visiting the church.

Hotel room was quiet, even when there was lots of activity right outside the hotel.
The hotel is not staffed 7x24, but there is a parent hotel a couple of minutes away if you need help when the hotel does not have staff on duty.

Breakfast was good.

Room was deceptively big - there is a main bedroom plus a second area where there are two bunk beds, a closet and fridge/safe. Bathroom was fine except the hair dryer did not work very well.

Trastevere is indeed a good section of town to stay in, and this is a good location in Trastevere. Make sure you have a good map when wandering around, as the streets twist around and change names. From here, we walked everywhere in the city, although not everyone would want to walk from here to the Vatican or Borghese gallery.

Staff was helpful at all times except once when they suggested that we would not need a dinner reservation at 7:30 anywhere, and we couldn't get in to a restaurant that we really wanted to go to.

Thanks to great location, from the Residenza Santa Maria, guests can easily reach the main tourist sites like Campo de' Fiori, Navona Square, the Pantheon, Spanish Steps, Trevi's fountain, the Roman Forum and Coliseum with just a relaxing stroll through a maze of fascinating medieval streets. The Vatican Museum/Sistine Chapel and St Peter's Square are a few minutes away.
