This is a very small with a perfect location if you want to stay by the Vatican. It is only about 15-20 minute walk to the shopping areas. Secure, quiet and very charming. Looking over a square and close to a great market and great dining.

We just returned from a weekend in Rome. I went with my two teenage daughters for the weekend. We were looking for a B&B in a good location that was clean/safe and affordable. Something generally unobtainable in Rome. The Residenza Risorgimento is a small 6 room B&B located 1/2 block away from the Vatican! This nice little place really fit the bill.

We took a bus from the Airport which took us as far as the main train station at which we took the subway. From the subway, the hotel was a couple of blocks south. An easy commute if you are there with only carry on luggage. Make sure you know the address as you will have to look for the private entrance among many. Otherwise very easy to find. It is located on the 5ht floor of a residential building. There is a small elevator that can take you to the top.

The hotel staff was very pleasent and helpful. He spoke enough English that getting across what we needed was pretty easy. The room was nicely decorated in Michelangelo prints and romenesque decor. The rooms were of adequate size for what we needed, and everything was in good repair. The bathroom was very clean, with a nice shower and blow dryer. The beds were adequately comfortable w/ clean crisp linens. The TV was small but functioned well w/ a few English channels via SAT. Adequate storage space was provided with a armior. There was a small safe in the room (big enough for small items/money).

Speaking of safety, we felt very safe in the hotel as you had to have 4 keys to get into your room. There was a large exterior wooden door and a large metal gate/door just inside the bldg. Then the entrance to the Risorgemento on the 5th floor also required a key. Then there was the key to your room. So, needless to say the hotel was very safe. The facility was very quiet also, and had a great view through a large window. Each room has its own remote controlled heating/air-conditioning unit.
We were there in Jan so it was a bit cold, so we were using the heater which worked very well.

Breakfast was included and brought to our room. It was simple with various pastries and drinks available. The only cooked item available were boiled eggs. Otherwise, it was enough to get us started in the morning. Being able to choose what you wanted and when you wanted it brought to your room was nice.

The hotel is 2 mins from the Vatican, and 5 mins to the nearest subway. The subways and buses can get you around very well to see the sights. There are many restaurants in the area, however, beware as there are some that will charge you more than the meals are worth if not careful. There is a really nice restarant and small shop just as you exit the bldg for incidentals. If you are more of a walker, you can actually walk from the hotel to the Colosseum in about a half an hour to 45 minutes. There are also tour companies in the area that will pick you up the hotel for tours at no extra charge. The staff at the Risorgemento also provides airport drop of service to the airport for 50 Eros. Well worth it when you don't want to chance missing your flight.

All in all a very nice bed and breakfast, in a good location. I would stay there again. Hope this is helpful as it can be a bit of a trick not getting taken advantage of in Rome.
