“Great apartment. Great location.”

We are a family of five (three teenagers) and we found the apartment spacious enough. We stayed for 5 nights.
The location is 5 minutes walk from st. Peter and 10 meters from bus line 64 which travels through the main of the city.
The apartment has 3 big rooms which are in top condition.
There are supermarket, 3 restaurants, pizzeria and elementary shop on the street (less than 5 minutes walk to each).
Irina was helpful and available for every little thing.

There is a small issue with the noise from the street. it took us a day to get used to it. Generally, we were very tired after a day of sightseeing so we had no problem falling to sleep.

We liked the neighborhood much preferred over the city center.

Bottom line: highly recommended.

“Look for no other place”
Reviewed September 10, 2013 for a stay in August 2013

Bernini House is immaculate in every aspect.

A minute walk to St. Peter's Square, there are charming restaurants close by. A convenience store right in front of the place offers stuff for your daily needs. You can park on the street and finding parking was easy for us. You can take bus 64 right from front of the building that takes you to majority of the spots in the city.

The place is big enough for 5 people and having two full bathrooms help. It was exceptionally well kept and cleaned. The furniture is modern and sparse. Kitchen is small but updated to fulfill all your needs. Beds and sofa bed were comfortable and air conditioning was good. There are ten steps in the front, so if you have difficulty climbing, be mindful of that. The windows are double paneled, so we didnt really experience any noise like other reviewers have. The place has free high speed wifi.

It was a great choice and we are extremely happy we stayed there. If we return to Rome, we are definitely returning to Bernini House.

“Great location and apartment”
Reviewed June 10, 2013 for a stay in May 2013

The location of this apartment was very good. Only a few blocks to the Vatican. Good restaurants in the area etc. The apartment was well appointed and very clean. All was very good with the exception of the very disturbing banging of the heavy front door leading to the apartment building! This unit is next to the entry door for the building and all day and night this large door squeaks and slams! The noise especially in the first bedroom is very disturbing. The door problem could easily be fixed with some oil to the door and a spring that makes it close quietly. If this problem was fixed I would give the apartment a very good rating and recommend it to a friend! With so many units to choose from I would stay somewhere without this problem.

Thanks for the review.

to the sound of the front door of the building, we have taken steps that have reduced the noise. Have been lubricated hinges, adjusted the spring accompany and added rubber on the swing of the door.

Thanks for pointing.

“I felt as if I were living inside an Italian community”

My wife and I had a bedroom to ourselves with a private bath. The bed was perfect. I have a bad back and was concerned about how the bed would sleep. It had a thick memory form mattress and it slept just fine. The shower in the bathroom was small but worker perfectly with lots of very hot water. The heater in the bedroom worker fine, but the remote control took some figuring out. Ask the young lady that meets you at the apartment to explain the remote to you if you have concerns.
A second bedroom of similar size was used by my future daughter-in-law. My two adult sons shared a sofa that converted into a fold-out bed. One of my sons said that this was not as comfortable as my bed but definitely adequate for our four-day stay. There was a second bathroom that the three of them shared together.
I should say that there was five adults in our party. The apartment was perfectly adequate for all of us. There is a small kitchen that we used to prepare a couple of meals. The apartment is right beside a busy street, and the street noise can sometimes be heard inside the apartment. This was not a problem for us.
One of the great things about the apartment is what you find when you step outside. You are surrounded by a vibrant Italian community. Several excellent restaurants are within a short walk of your front door. You really get a taste of Italian day-to-day life. A five to ten minute walk takes you to the Vatican - no need to take a cab or bus. There is a city bus stop right out side the apartment, but my family and I did not use it. There are many things to see in Rome within a short walk of the Vatican, and your apartment is next door (literally) to the Vatican.
Would I use this apartment again if I return to Rome? Most definitely. I should point out that inside the front door to the building is a lovely marble covered foyer with about ten steps leading up to the apartment itself. There is no ramp or handicap access to the apartment. If you would have problems with climbing the steps (about ten) this could be a concern.
There are two nice large beds in the apartment for two couples. Two other adults have sleep accommodations with the use of the fold-out sofa. The descriptions of the department at airbnb were accurate and the pictures as well.
I hope to return to Rome one day, and, when I do, I hope that the department is available for rent. I would not hesitate to use it again.
One last thing. Let the apartment owners arrange for meeting you at the airport. They had a driver with van meet our party of five and they brought us to our front door. The cost was 70 Euros. This was simple and relatively inexpensive. They also arranged transportation back to the airport when we left Rome.

“Perfect place to stay near Vatican”

Me, my husband and another couple have stayed in Bernini House for a long weekend in January 2013. We wanted a place near Vatican, close to restaurants and all attractions. Bernini House was absolutely perfect, we've walked everywhere! Vatican was literally down the road. I loved the fact that the apartment was very clean and towel and linens were crispy white. The fact that we had a separate bathrooms was a huge bonus (we've never run out of hot water :))
Beds are amazing! We were travelling with pregnant lady and she said she had the best sleep ever! and me and my husband completely agree with that.
Travelling from and to the apartment was very easy, Irina explained to us everything we needed to know on a very first day. Even though it's very easy to use a bus, which stops literally outside the apartment, we've walked everywhere and come back by taxi, which I found very affordable (less than €10 from any point it central Rome).
And last but not least a massive thank you to Alessandra and Irina for being very flexible with us (they've let us check in very late-10pm and check out at 6pm) and for answering all our questions before arrival.
If we ever come back to Rome we definitely gonna stay at Bernini House

“Good Location But......”
Reviewed December 5, 2012 for a stay in November 2012

This apartment is a newly renovated property with a great location close to the Vatican, shops and cafés. All of the appliances are new and the rooms a spacious and clean although furnished a bit sparsely. One major drawback to this property is it is located on the ground floor on a very busy side street. The noise level caused by the traffic is certainly a major distraction almost annoying at times. The center bedroom has a newly installed window which made a tremendous difference holding out the noise. If the other two rooms were fitted with these windows it would make a dramatic difference. If you don’t mind the noise this is a nice apartment for the price. Try the café on the corner to the right as you come out of the building, wonderful owner, great food and wine.

“Perfect location to see the sights and eat great food!!”
Reviewed November 12, 2012 for a stay in September 2012

Bernini House was the perfect choice for our families vacation to Rome. From the time we arrived at Ciampino airport, things went smoothly. Our driver was waiting for us, and it was a short drive to the apartment. The location was perfectly located just a few minutes walk to the Vatican. This was very convenient since my father is disabled and we have 2 small children. The double decker tour bus pickup was right at the Vatican as well. Another great thing was the variety of restaurants right outside the front door. From quick snacks to nice sit down restaurants, they had it all. We would definately stay here again!
