I went for a conference and stayed for a night. At first, the staff was neutral but helpful enough. It was impossible to check in before three o'clock in the afternoon, because the hotel was busy with conferences. The suite on the 6th floor was good and spacious. The gym was very elementary and incospicuous and one had to ask for it a couple of times. The restaurant of the hotel was neutral , without any atmosphere. Breakfast was rather poor , without much choice. I would seriously consider to visit this hotel , though the rooms were OK.

Room Tip: Try to take one upper floors room. The location is totally urban. One has to be on the terrace to ha...

It is difficult to know where to begin. Intolerable heat in the room due to air conditioning being switched off. Appalling room service as not only does no one speak English but they do not seem to want to actually take your order. Awful breakfast buffet with fruit juice which tasted like a chemical cocktail and dreadful Powdery coffee. This hotel seems to be lacking in any effective management but somehow stumbling on because there are endless tour parties passing through it. The complaints about the heat in the rooms are endless on here, yet they do nothing about it at all but behave ad though you are deranged for complaining about it. They clearly don't need to. Add to that the lack of wifi in the rooms the plugs coming out of the wall and the extraordinary decor in the rooms and you have one of the worse hotels I have ever stayed in.

Room Tip: Try and get a room on the top floor as it is possible to open the windows there. That is if you real...

It has been 80 degrees F in our room day and night. It is hotter in our room than it is outside. (outside evening is around 61F). No windows open and the air conditioner does not work. The staff says alternatively that either we should turn off what little air does come out (a trickle of slightly cool air) to make it cooler or that it is hot air that is coming out. Neither is true. This is not a problem of the 'air' shutting off when we are not moving or the lights are off, makes no difference. We are exhausted from lack of sleep, but the hotel has no interest whatsoever in correcting the problem dispite several complaints and request for help. The hotel is decent otherwise.

Room Tip: go to another hotel

When you arrive at the Mantegna you think from the marble foyer and the 4 star you are going to be in for a treat . Theres no pool or leisure facilities - ok fine but the service is terrible - sullen uncooperative staff verging on rude. Nothing works - room safe, tv . The breakfast and restaurant are ok - but took 3 x attempts to get a menu in English. Room service is appalling - 1/2 hour to even order a burger because no one spoke English

I like Rome and do a lot of business here but I wouldn't recommend this to anyone

Very modern, very clean, great coffee but cold service in the restaurant. The teams here were cold, disinterested in the guests but lively and chatty with each other! The same team must've been working room service because I tried to order but to no avail... The person on the other end of the line barely spoke English and my order never materialised!

The team at reception were amazing! Warm and willing to attended to each guest in a friendly and professional manner! Wifi is only available in the lobby/lounge where everyone practically had to play musical chairs to get a decent spot to sit and do some work! With the bar on same level, the noise from this area filters up to the 1st floor which makes a good night's sleep all but impossible!

The red mood lighting in the rooms was interesting however the backlit mirror left me perplexed as it reminded me of a two-way mirror. I kept wondering who was on the other side!! While marble is generously used in Italian hotels, I think it's best to carpet hallways - not only do you hear everything from talking to heels clicking on the marble, but it echoes and was amplified making every sound louder than life!

Would I stay there again? Yes, but I will pack ear plugs next time and ask for a room as far from the elevators and lobby as possible!!

Located in the south part of the city : 15 minutes (by taxi) to the city centre / 20 minutes to Fiumicino airport... this 4 stars hotel is nice with large design rooms, maybe too much illumination in the room and it is not so easy to open the curtains, but it has comfortable beds.
Breakfast is correct.
Staff is very nice.
This is a good hotel for 1 or couple of nights, if you are in Roma for business purpose.
