“Pleasant stay and good location”
Reviewed September 10, 2013

The hotel location was very convenient as it was within short walking distance to major attractions. The staff was very friendly, helpful and spoke good english. There are stores and restaurants nearby. We had a triple room (3 singles). The beds were ok for comfort, which was sufficient. The room and bathrooms(bathroom had a shower, bodet, toilet and sink) felt very clean and modern. The air conditioning was nice to have for Rome summers. Internet worked fine during our stay. For the triple room, there was an outside patio with table and seating which was very nice to relax in evenings. Eating is not allowed in the rooms, but is allowed out in the patio. There was a TV and room safe available for guest use. A mini bar fridge with items reasonably priced was in the room also. Overall, the room was clean and comfortable and would stay there again.

Our trip was bit of last minute and Hotel Artorius was the most highly rated hotel on tripadvisor which was with-in our budget. During our travel, till now we have tended to opt for for Big hotel chains just to ensure a basic level of service, so it was with some hesitation that I booked it based solely on its Trip Advisor Rating. And, it turned out to be pretty good decision.

The Taxi dropped us right in front of Hotel. Our room was on first floor. Hotel has a quaint lift which we used only at time of checking in and out to move luggage. The room itself was very clean, quite spacious and had a comfortable bed. During our stay we slept well. Based on my earlier experience in European hotels, we were bit worried about size of bed, but it was very comfortable for 2 people. Bathroom was decently sized, with a small shower cubicle, which can fit only one. Hot water was available all the time. Our room had a window which even though opened out to main street was almost sound-proof and during our stay we never heard any noise from the street (we were there during a weekend).

Breakfast was served in small area downstairs. Being vegetarians, we obviously had limited options, but they had a wide selection of fruits, on which we gorged a lot. There was no egg in the breakfast. For me, delicious and authentic coffee was the highlight of the breakfast.
Hotel is approx. 10-15 minutes walk from the nearest Metro stations (Republica). Trevi is also about the same. Colosseum is approx. 10 minutes leisurely walk. Hotel is located in a street with many restaurants and bars, so finding something to eat is not a problem. TIM store (for those interested in buying phone/SIM) is just around the corner and is open till 6 PM. There is a grocery store just outside the hotel.

Hotel seemed to be family run and we were well take care of. On a Sunday, we needed some medicine, and the lady at the front desk went out of her way to help us out ! While checking out, they helped us in getting a taxi. One thing which bothered us was their policy of not allowing food up in the rooms. However, they graciously allowed us to eat our takeout dinner in their breakfast area.
Overall a very nice experience. For those looking to stay near Colosseum, this is very well placed.

This hotel was perfect for our 5 night stay in Rome. The location was ideal being easy walking distance from the Colosseum and the Trevi Fountain. It is situated in a quiet street with many places to eat close by and a small supermarket right opposite if you need it. We had a triple room and it was really lovely being very spacious, clean and we had the bonus of a large terrace so we had afternoon breaks there with a glass of wine before heading out on our evening trips. The free Wi-Fi worked very well and it was handy having a mini-bar and safe. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and, as mentioned in other reviews, the cappuccinos at breakfast were thoughtfully decorated, a small but friendly touch. This hotel is full of character having a 100 year old lift and I don't think I have eaten breakfast in a prettier place. I cannot recommend this hotel enough and without doubt would stay there again.

The Artorius did for us exactly what it said on TA and online, It is a very friendly and cosy B&B with a great location.
- Our room was on the ground floor next to a breakfast area and was fairly big, cleaned daily, easy operated AC and with spacious toilet/shower room(very good condition).
- Everyone on reception was very friendly and Carla especially made our trip easier by giving that needed touristic advice :)
- Breakfast is continental, nothing fancy, but excellent cappuccinos are made for you and cornettos were very good as well
- Walking: It is under 10 mins to Colosseum, 15 mins to Termini, about 12 mins to Trevi. You can do a lot on foot from this place
- Neighborhood is very cute as well, a mix of locals and tourists, narrow streets with churches plenty of tiny shops, restaurants and cafes, there is a tiny piazza with fontana as well, I loved it

I booked this hotel for my parents when they visited me in Rome, and of course, you always want the best for your parents. I was very happy with the results, and my family was as well!

The location has the best of both worlds: it is in the heart of all the attractions in Rome, but it is situated on a peaceful little road off the side of a big main street. The hotel itself is small, but the room are moderately spacious for European rooms, more so than the pictures show. The rooms were also quiet and clean.

The best part of the hotel was the breakfast, which is held outside in the backyard/patio. The hotel owners sometimes come out to talk with guests and oversee the delicious food. There's a very warm and cozy atmosphere at this family-run hotel that makes you feel like you're at home. Highly recommended.

The Hotel Artorious is very well situated for visiting all the main sites in Rome. For example, the Colosseum is about 10 minutes walk away. The Vatican is further away but I did walk there and back.
The Hotel has excellent air-conditioning, free Wi-Fi in the rooms, a mini-bar (reasonable prices), small safe and a modern flat screen TV. The bathroom was very clean and well presented.
My room was on the first floor overlooking the street but I had no problems with noise from the street or adjoining rooms.
The staff were all very cheerful and helpful.
Plenty of restaurants nearby for an evening meal. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends.

Room Tip: My room overlooked the street but I had no problems with noise.

What a great place with great owners who go out of their way to assist you in any way they can. The Hotel is centrl to most attractions and very close to the Coloseo. I walked to the Trevi Fountain in 10 minutes. The rooms are good size with good showers. They are modern and quiet. The breakfast is fresh and has all you require to get a good start to the day. One of our better stays in 3 months of travel. Only sorry we did not find it earlier in our stay in Rome.

Room Tip: We stayed in a front room and it was quiet. I don't think they have a bad room. We were on the...
