“A fabulous place to stay”
Reviewed July 2, 2013

We flew into Rome and stayed here for two nights before and after our travel to Venice in late May and mid June. We love it here. We have stayed in this lovely hotel three times now. The Italian family who own and run it are so helpful and friendly. We had a glitch with our luggage, and the Hotel Team were wonderful in following up with the airport and managed to get my bag later that day. The breakfasts are excellent with cereals, pastries, cheese, yoghurt, etc etc - and the most wonderful cappuccino. We like the location of the Hotel too, close to restaurants, wine bars, a superette and close enough to walk to all the sights while still living near locals. It is a fabulous place to stay.

Centrally located walking distance to the Colosseum and the Forum. A short cab ride to the Vatican. Also, many restaurants near by.
Fantastic breakfast.
The staff were very helpful.
There was no pool nor fitness center.

Room Tip: Look at tripadvisor reviews.

We returned to Artorius after a few years, and it is still first-rate. The rooms are large enough and well furnished. Our room was on the back (quiet) and it had a balcony, which is nice.

Everyone says that Artorius has a great location. I agree; the famous sites nearby, the Cavour Metro station, and the large number of restaurants in the area make it a great base for visitors to Rome.

The staff are great. They are cheerful and helpful in many ways.

Breakfast, either in the garden or in the tent is one of the most varied we have had in Italy. The coffee here is very good.

My daughter and I loved this Inn. It is located in a great area for walking anywhere. Even the metro is nearby if you need to catch that. The inn is lovely, in a great safe area near lovely restaurants, markets, gelatoria's and shops. The tiny little street is typical Rome. The staff is awesome...so friendly, helpful, patient and kind. They really do go above and beyond in their service to you. Our room was lovely with a French doors opening onto a patio. Our beds were comfortable, the room clean, the bathroom: lovely, clean, new...beautiful marble. The housekeeping did a great job freshening our room every day. The breakfast was wonderful and there was something for everyone. The cappuccino's delicious! The sea gulls were a comforting sound. We will stay here again! Loved it, loved it, loved it! Thank you everyone, for making our stay so comfortable and relaxing. You made us feel welcome and like old friends. We loved how protected we felt, especially at night. There was always someone working all night to watch over the front door and to welcome us after a late night out. You are all awesome! Thank you!

Room Tip: We had a room facing the inside courts. We had a patio. It was extremely quiet. We had a queen si...

This hotel is a 3 minute walk from the colosseum, only 10 to the trevi, perfect location. The street itself has some great restaurants and cafes. I would recommend Artorius to anyone and if I return to Rome I will definitely be staying there again. The staff are also lovely, speak English well and serve a great breaky!

We stayed at the Hotel Artorius for 2 nights post cruise. We found the room to be very comfortable. The bathroom was clean, large and modern. The staff was so very patient and helpful. The location was just perfect. We walked to the Forum, Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, train station, and lots of shopping. The complementary breakfast was great. We had an early departure flight, and the staff was great about arranging an airport transfer to pick us up at 5:00 AM. I had lost my cel phone in Madrid, so had no way to set an alarm. ( there are no clocks in the room). I requested a wake-up call for 4:15. The only negative thing I could say about our Hotel Artorius stay is that we did not get that wake up call as requested. We had stopped by the desk the night before our departure to settle our account and reconfirm the airport transfer and wake up call. I'm sure the mistake was innocent enough, and probably rarely necessary in this age of cel phones, but in our case it was important. Things worked out ok since my husband was so worried about the call that he slept very little and woke up in time for us to get ready in time for our ride. We would definitely stay again, and would gladly recomend this hotel to others.
