The hotel is positioned in the very center of old Rome, and in a walking distance to all the major attractions (colloseum, forum, Vatican, all the piazzas, etc.).
The room is very simple, we had to single beds. it is better to ask a room that does not face the main street (Vittorio Emanuel 2). During our stay we recieved a pretty simple breakfast but we always ate outside (starting the morning in campo di fiori market).
The room is very nice and clean, wooden-like floors, IKEA decor, but most important - AIR-CONDITION!!!
The staff is lovely - we had a flight at 23:00 and they let us stay in the room as long as we wanted without asking extra money.
bottom line: great base-station to explore Rome. very good value.
We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights in July. Our experience there was terrible and we will never, ever go there again. The place advertises air conditioning, but THEY SHUT IT OFF AT 10:30 PM. Our room was unbearable at night. The air was working decently until nightime, when we noticed it getting warmer. We sweated through the first night and complained the next morning.
The staff barely knows English, so we had communication problems. They promised us to get the AC fixed, and to get us fans for the room. We were told that evening everything was fine, but surprise, surprise, no AC again. They actually told us the reason: at night they have an automatic switch that turns off the AC compressors. It was so hot and miserable in that hotel.
Then to make matters worse when we checked out, we expected a reduced or free stay. Nope. They wanted to charge us full rate for both nights. This after they admitted they turned off the AC on purpose, but told us we'd have AC. We refused to pay, so they said they'd report us to Immigration and we couldn't leave the country. We kept arguing, and then they threatened to call the police and have us arrested. We finally agreed to pay 75% of the full rate for both nights, and they weren't happy about that rate so they told us "Get your things, get out of here in 10 minutes and we never see you again". So we got kicked out of the hotel.
The place is the most rude, inconsiderate, and miserably hot hotel I've ever been to. Please, consider any other place in Rome before this one.
The hotel was new and very clean. They had Air conditioning (which is rare in Italy.) If you plan to go to Italy in the summer A/C is a must!
The owner was very nice. The staff was also very friendly and willing to help, the guy at the desk sat with me for 15 minuets to help me find sites on the map and explain how to get to them on foot, by bus and/or by tram (he even made copies of the map for us).
The hotel gives you the keys so you can come and go as you please even if the person at the desk is not there to buzz you in to the building.
The breakfast was decent it consisted of milk, coffee, juice, cereal, rolls, cake, croissants, eggs, cheeses, butter, jelly, cucumbers and tomatoes.
(The breakfast is Kosher to whom it may concern)
They take credit cards.
Overall it was a very pleasant experience and we strongly recommend Migdal Palace.
Got this Hotel recommendation from a travel agent in Israel. This small pension size hotel is on the first floor of a large apartment building. They give you all the keys to get in so you can come and go as you please. Decent sized rooms with bath. Everything new. Just opened. They cater to the Kosher crowd but anyone can book. Just no meat for breakfast or hot coffee on Saturday morning. Otherwise it was a great choice. Walk to Piazza Navona and lots of other sites. Near the old Jewish Quarter. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in the center and is not looking for a large name brand hotel. The owner, Giorgio, is a sweetheart. The staff at the desk were most helpful. You really feel like your in Rome if you stay here.

Migdal Palace is located in the center of Rome on Corso Vittorio Emanuele ll, 173. 00186 Rome. Phone [---] or [---]. What a fabulous location. We did not want to stay outside the city in one of those modern chain hotels and instead chose to stay at this charming quiet pension just opened in March 2007. Everything is new. Just remodeled and spotless. Breakfast is included. We stayed in a double for 140 Euros a night. We stayed in a room facing the street but found that the noise did not bother us at all. There are rooms that do not face the Corso if you prefer. Located between Piazza Navona and Piazza Campo Di Fiore. We walked everywhere. Right outside the door there is the stop for a tourist bus called the Trambus Open that does a 2 hour circle trip with 11 stops that allows on and off privileges. The ticket is good from 8:30am to 8:30 pm. We did it during daytime and again in the evening. Cost is 13 Euros. This pension is located in an historic building with an incredible entry way. Painted ceilings, statue, old fashioned elevator, etc. We loved it and would recommend it to all our friends. The staff was very friendly and went out of their way for us.
