“Everything we hoped for”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2013

We have just returned from Buonanotte Garibaldi and it didn't disappoint. We booked the Rome Room for our anniversary and loved sitting on the private roof terrace in the sunshine - especially as we still had snow in our garden at home! The staff were delightful (especially David) and Luisa, the owner, had lots of wonderful tips on where to eat and where to visit. Room and bathroom were not big but fine for what we needed and everything was immaculate and bed huge and very comfy. It is a real haven - quiet and in a great position. The area is busy but charming. Number 6, a restaurant just up the road, is very convenient when you have tired feet from exploring. Also good value.

Room Tip: Rome Room with its private terrace is lovely in good weather.

Our second visit to this wonderful secluded grand villa in a peaceful haven of the Travestere with a warm welcome from David the house keeper, what a find. Only three rooms looking into a Marrakech type courtyard with lemon trees. The elegant Luisa, the owner, advises on all your needs; lots of good restaurants within minutes. So peaceful yet short walks to the magic of the Piazza Nova and Campo di Fiori. It is just like staying in a private house with staff. We cannot wait to return.

Room Tip: The blue room. With terrace

This hotel is in Trastevere, a really cool, characterful part of Rome (over the river from the main attractions but only a mile or two walk to all the main attractions). It lies behind an anonymous gate but once through you're in a lovely little courtyard replete with exotic tree-life and surrounded by the rooms and main hotel. We were very warmly greeted by the man on duty, who was very helpful and friendly throughout our stay (booking taxis, restaurant etc). The breakfast was a shared table (never my favourite feature of a hotel but at least nobody was around when we were eating) with decent food (cold, except the toast), coffee and juice. Our issue was with the room. For 260 Euros a night, you at least expect to have windows in your room but ours, probably uniquely in all the places I've ever stayed, only had a door. Aside from being a bit depressing during the day, it's confusing to be in a pitch black room when it's light outside - you can't quite get used to it being time to get up. The room was also too warm despite the A/C machine (which was really annoying - it was loud when on but kept switching off - so you can't get used to the sound of it). I'm sure the other rooms are lovely based on the reviews but they only had this one available for us. If that's the case, I'd avoid this place even though it has some very desirable aspects.

Room Tip: Avoid the Chocolate room!

My husband and I stayed at this B&B in early September and were very pleased with our stay. We were in the Orange Room which, like the rest of the hotel, was very nicely decorated. Despite being in a very vibrant neighborhood, the hotel was very quite. Yet, you just had to take a very short walk to be right in the heart of Trestavere which is bustling with restaurants and shops. Breakfast was included and very delicious. The dining room in which it was served was beautifully decorated and the selection of breakfast fare was pretty extensive. I'd highly recommend this B&B as an outstanding value. The staff was also very helpful if we had any requests.

The area is just perfect...away from all the noise, cars and crowds of downtown area of rome. The gate opens and you are in a most beautiful courtyard with areas to relax and have a drink or visit. the rest of the world is cut off. room was very nice and common areas delightful. due to our schedule, we did not get to try the breakfast. David was amazing as we had to leave at 5am to catch our fllight and he was right there to see us off! service was excellent and we loved the trastevere area. be sure to eat at mario g's right down the street!

This is exactly as the website! An ideal location in the midst of the hustle and bustle of Rome. Calm and relaxing behind the secure, ivy clad gates then step out into a wonderful part of Rome with cafes, bars and restaurants on your doorstep! Service is ideal and unobtrusive: breakfast a feast at a communal table: cheese, breads, freshly made tortes and delicious fresh fruits and your very own pot of coffee! We stayed 4 nights in the Orange Room: not a huge room but the bathroom made up for it- fantastic shower! Wonderfully large lounge area and all around the artworks of the owner adding to an atmosphere of chic! David is charming and attentive, taxis were organised for airport transfers and all at a good price. Highly recommend.

Room Tip: Blue room would be my choice next time!

We have spent 8 nights in this extraordinary and perfectly located guest house enjoying the unique atmosphere of the house and the privacy of our room with its big terrace every day...
Thanks to the charming owner and the perfect house-keeper David we think this place is the best way to stay in Rome. We shall come back again...
