I came here with three other friends. As soon as we walked in the door we were welcomed. Alì offered us some cappuccinos or tea and noticed we were sniffling and also offered a single packaged asprin (which really did the trick!) we got settled and he showed us where everything was on a map. We told us about the metro and public transportation. After we returned from our busy Alì offered us warm drinks again! The service is great! Everything is so clean! I don't have anything bad to say! Breakfast was great! Juice, coffee or tea and pastries!

I stayed at Hotel Lodi in July 2012 with my three teenage children. We were far from home (New Zealand) but we felt like we were at home thanks to the staff of Hotel Lodi. Alec and the owner were superb. We took the Metro from the train station and it was quite a long walk with packs on our backs and my teenagers kept telling me that I must have got the directions wrong. We arrived hot and sweaty and we were immediately fussed over, and given ice cold drinks of water (so appreciated). Then the owner told us to go upstairs and relax and have a shower and come down later and he would get Alec to help us plan our time in Rome. Alec helped us plan our time with lots of inside information and tips. The best thing about staying at Hotel Lodi was that it was in a non touristy area and we could go to local supermarkets and restaurants which is the type of experience we wanted. However the standard of accommodation is what you pay for, it is a simple but clean hostel with no air conditioning, which in July made it difficult to sleep. The breakfasts were great - too sweet for NZ tastes but fresh and plentiful. Highly recommended if you want a different experience.

We stayed here for 3 nights at the beginning of our European adventure trip. We loved it at Hotel Lodi. Sara was so sweet and the owner was amazing. LOVED their breakfast (included in price) which we ate outside in the beautiful garden. The staff here were so helpful with helping us figure out where to go the non tourist type restaurants and bars so we could experience the true Roma experience!
I loved it here. Beds were comfortable and we upgraded to a private room for the last two nights just because we wanted a room with some privacy. We originally were in a room with two bunk beds, so 4 people to a room. I was skeptical about it, but it turned out to be okay.
Hotel Lodi is located in a quiet residential neighbourhood but there are restaurants and grocery store close by.
If you are looking for a nice relaxing quiet stay in Roma, stay here!
Thanks again to Sara :)

Room Tip: If you have extra money to spend and you like privacy, get a private room.

I think hotel lodi is one of the best hostel in Roma. Although it's a bit far from the attractions but it's easy to get there by bus and metro from here. The staffs are really nice and friendly. They offer lots of information for us and tell us about the good things to do in town. The rooms are clean and they also offer a fridge and a microwave. By the way, the breakfast there is really nice and you can enjoy the tea there anytime you want!

Had a really wonderful stay at this place. The owner is beyond helpful; he really goes out of his way to make sure you have a good time in Rome. Rooms are clean and spacious, although the plastic covering on the mattresses means you'll squeak everytime you roll over. Breakfast is nutella filled croissants, glass of juice and your choice of tea/coffee/cappacino/hot choc. Not exactly the healthiest but I loved it anyway. Good location, far enough away from the tourist spots that you are not paying ten million euros for a sandwich, but close enough that it's not too inconvenient (just a couple of metro stops from all the major sites). Really recommended, and for the price I dare anyone to find somewhere better. You won't regret staying here.

This was mine and my girlfriends first visit to rome and i say without exaggeration that staying at the lodi really made the trip. The staff were helpful and friendly, giving us directions to local restaurants and bars, explaining the local transport and providing great coffee in the morning.

For the price the quality of service was amazing, and the rooms were big, clean and comfortable.

If you travel to rome for any length of time, i cant recommend staying at the lodi highly enough.

We will definitely be going back!
