I could not fault my stay in Rome. Accomodation is generally expensive anyway, however i felt i was getting value for money here. Staff did look after you. Location was fantastic SPA Fantastic although the pool was a wee bit cold. Roof top Bar amazing and great views of the city at night..

We booked a luxury room but my partner couldn't stand up in 2/3 of it due to the low sloping roofs. It was also very dark and had very poor lighting. The shower was the weakest I have experienced including in much cheaper hotels and the bathroom very small. The facilities for a 5 star hotel were shocking. The Turkish Spa had very limited opening hours & roof top bar was only open from 7:30 and closed on Sundays (not helpful for a weekend stay). They have no concept of using it at other times and its locked so guests can't even go up there. Prices are beyond belief and about 2 times London prices in return for no atmosphere and little view. Expect to pay at least 13 Euro's for a glass of wine.
Whilst the breakfast downstairs is very good (as others have said) and was included in our price, if you want breakfast in your room it includes only very basic bread products, juice and coffee and it will cost you £25 PER PERSON for that to be delivered!!! The very definition of extortion. Room service soup is £26 and mixed fried fish £45 (plus of course the £25 room service charge PER PERSON). Coffee was very good but no facilities to make any in your room.

On the plus side, the location is great, tucked away in a quieter corner of Rome but only 15 mins from the Vatican Sq and 15 mins from Piazza Navona (worth a visit) and lots of interesting little lanes. The hotel was spotlessley clean and had chic minimalist decor but there was absolutely no personal touch. Staff were all very professional and helpful.
The prices and access to the facilities brought this score right down. The Euro/Pound exchange will only serve to highight this over-charging. We'd return to the area but not to this hotel which is a shame.

The rooms were really clean and nice. The service was good, and breakfast outside every morning was a nice feature. But there were two downsides:

The hotel is very loud. Not the guests, but the actual floors and acoustics echo and make everything sound much louder. I was woken up a few times by the sounds of doors slamming and footsteps or the maids early in the morning.

The other downside was the prices. One night we went to the roof bar to have a drink, and a non-alcoholic shirley temple was about $17. The restaurant in the hotel was very expensive too, and I never saw anyone actually eating in it.

Overall a nice hotel and a good experience, but not for light sleepers.

We stayed at the St. George for the first 2 nights of our honeymoon. We booked on Priceline so we got an amazing deal.

The location was perfect, walkable to all the major sites.

The room was small (of course, this is Rome), but comfortable and beautifully decorated. The bed was very comfy, the shower had great water pressure, the TV had 5 English channels... all and all, great.

The breakfast was awesome! So much to choose from (too much to list) and great service on the coffee and tea.

The rooftop terrace was lovely. Of course, drinks are a little pricey, but we expected as much. It was worth it for the sunset views of the city.

We stayed for 5 nights and although not a bargain, we felt the hotel provided a very good value for the rate: clean, duvets, comfortable bedding & pillows, good breakfast buffet included. The location was a plus for us, located on the beautiful, quiet Via Guila in the Campo Fiori neighborhood, within walking distance of the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and Piazza Navona, but away from the hordes of tourists near areas around the Spanish Steps. The staff was friendly and helpful; the pool was a wonderful way to relax after a full day of sightseeing. The Vatican and the Colesseum are just a short cab ride from the hotel.

Hotel is located in the historical centre, narrow cobbled streets, atmospheric but difficult for a taxi to get to-no public transport nearby and streets don't lend themselves to suitcase on wheels.Hotel is in minimalist(to an extreme?) style and has been carved out of much older property. As such rooms are very small-they claim 20 square metres, which would be 4 by 5.When you consider that a basket ball player is 2metres plus ,then you are talking, basically 2 basketball plaers lying end to end by 2 more . The bathrooms, usually a strong point in italian hotels(all that marble etc) are very small, again probably due to the constraints of the original building.
As others have mentioned,if you get a good rate-well done. But ANY thing extra is enormously costly. The restaurant is hugely expensive and nouvelle cuisiney(not exactly what you go to Rome for)so give it a miss.Drinks and wine are priced at the level of a very top end London hotel.I was astonished to see italian wines on their list at prices above those in top London restaurants for the same wine.go out to eat and drink is my advice.
So it's all a bit over done in the end.

We stayed here in July, in our last night in Italy. We had booked a "deluxe" room in their website, prepaid for supposedly a discounted rate.

The room was well furnished but not big. Bathroom was adequate size, very modern. Upon arriving we noticed the room was a bit warm but we thought it was that the A/C had just been turned on and it was middle of the afternoon of a very hot day. When we came back around 6 PM the room was sweltering. We called downstairs and they sent somebody up. The person said the repair would take like 30 mins, to let them know when we left for dinner they would come and fix it. When we came back around midnight the room was still very warm. I called the front desk who was apologetic but didn't know anything about it and didn't offer any solution. The bed was very uncomfortable and soft.. Between that and the heat it was a very unpleaseant night.

The next morning upon check out I complained. The guy at the front desk already knew about our problems and offered to comp us the drinks we had on the rooftop bar the night before. Not great, but at least something (especially since the price of the drinks was exhorbitant!).

I really couldn't recommend this hotel for what they charge, even if it is their prepaid "discountd" rate.
